Monsters, Inc. Hollywood Studios rumor

I can see this happening, but can also unfortunately see this complaint from an angry mother at City Hall:

"So we were on the Monster ride and my child was screaming so loud that she strained her voice, my poor sweetie, and not only that, but when we finally got on, my child was traumatized by the 6 foot drop! I mean really! I thought that it was going to be like that ride in Fantasyland, what do you call it?"

Frightened CM: Um... Peter Pan's Flight?

Mom: Whatever. I feel compelled to sue you for putting these cute characters into a heart wrenching roller coaster! And that purple one...

CM: Um... Randall?

Mom: Whatever. He scared my child silly! How can you put such frightening characters into a ride at Disneyworld? At least that scary ride in Fantasyland...

CM: Um... Snow White's Scary Adventures?

Mom: Whatever. At least it had a disclaimer! Did you get all of that? Hmmm?

CM (Who has just been typing all of that down on a computer): Yes Ma'am. Our sincerest apologies.

Mom: And do something about that soda in the park...

CM:Um... Coca-Cola?

Mom: Whatever. It gives my child gas!

CM:Yes Ma'am. Our sincerest apologies.

Just as she leaves, the CM clicks the DELETE button and calls the next customer to her desk.

Exactly. Look at Soarin, (you could say it's suspended) and it only has a seatbelt.
But this is a roller coaster. However there is a solution that I am sure Disney will look into. Vekoma has put some new restraints on one of their SLCs (suspended looping coaster) that are more like a vest that allow a lot more freedom and less "head banging". I saw a video of them and they look great.
Here's a picture I found on the Morey's Piers site. They use these restraints on their coaster Nor Easter.

Much better than this.

These are the restraints on the family style coaster.

True, but I can't see WDW using those... I don't see this coaster being anything that big  and I could be completely wrong as I don't know anything about it. I picture a suspended coaster on Peter Pan's Flight scale. Especially with it having a MI theme, "little" kids are going to want to ride this, and those restraints look to be something a really little kid couldn't ride.

Maybe they make really little vests.

Just kidding cause that wouldn't be fair to the adults or teenagers. But I'd like to see it non-the-less. In my opinion though I see it as having the shoulder restraints and seatbelt. Just a bit more reasonable cause that keeps both children and adults in which I don't think the adults would be that much of wiggling problem. ;)

^^That last picture I posted is coaster that little kids ride. Not every ride at Disney is meant for little kids but for families and that is a family coaster.

The height requirement is 44". 26 miles per hour is nothing. They could make a different kind of restraint. But we don't even know what kind of suspended ride could be put in there as you said. However this is what I think and I think the Petere Pan's Flight technology is pretty old and not considered a roller coaster.
Those are just my views, I'm not trying to slam you down or anything so don't hate me. :D

Haha I don't hate  We're both just speculating anyways. IMO I can't see Disney doing anything that large of a scale in Soundstage 1 even extending the building out for the Scare Factory but I could be wrong... it wouldn't be the first and it wont be the last :animwink:

sorry but i think this would be stupid for disney to do, it looks like a horrible ride and really low technology

Not a chance they would ever opt to install such a low capacity ride similar to the Pteradon Flyers at Camp Jurassic. While the logistics of the coaster are still being worked out, I've been told a different system of suspended coasters will be used... One more comfortable, quick and unique... :animwink:

Cool!! So it would be a pretty big coaster! And I like how it describes it as "spinning" fixing the problem of blocking people's view if you're not sitting in the front!

(Suspended) a long, non-dangling train and make it even spin

That looks awesome! I really hope they do up the technology for a new unique coaster. I wouldn't be surprised since we are talking about Disney here.

It won't likely feature the layout seen on the site (just the ride system). The ride itself is set to take up Soundstage 1 with a new queue line offering access to the ride from Pixar Place.
