At this point I don't think we're gonna get anything about it until D23 Brazil. They said it's gonna include some stuff about the parks, so that to me says elaboration on stuff already announced.
If Monsters goes into AC, it will probably buy Muppets at least a few more years. If Muppets goes for something else, you could probably lump that and Star Tours + Indy for a very large area or two.

At the risk of scouring 259 pages, is there spades in the ground for this attraction or was it just classic nonsense from Josh ?
Someone correct me, but it was not announced where it was to go yet.
Many experts in this site say Monsters will go in the Animation courtyard, but it could replace Muppets.
Someone correct me, but I think NO dirt has moved for this yet.

I saw on Twitter where an area of Animation Courtyard is walled off. Is this related?

Construction likely won't start until the 2nd half of 2025. We are still waiting on where it's going, potentially to be announced at D23 Brazil in less than 2 weeks.

Unrelated to Monsters, Inc. Land. This is for The Little Mermaid.

Classic Josh.

I mean this somewhat makes sense from a finance perspective.

The current fiscal year is going all-in with the Dinoland-Tropical Americas conversion and the start of the Beyond/Adjacent to BTM.

Fiscal Year 2026 (October 2025) is a probably a reasonable start for Monsters Inc. breaking ground.

Interesting! Is this why they pushed back TLM’s opening date?
I believe so. Piecing the rumors together, there's been a big fight behind the scenes of Courtyard vs Muppets. Originally taking out Muppets was winning, but it changed. Now it looks like Courtyard. So, they cancelled the Mermaid opening so they can move the entrance. It does not mean Courtyard is for sure where it is going (this would need to happen regardless for a Phase 2), but it has probably increased the odds by a good bit. Personally, I hope A.) that's true, and B.) that means an expansion of Monsters. It'd feel weird to plop a land that was designed for like 2 acres into an area with like 5 acres. I haven't kept up great on the thread, so people feel free to correct me if I'm off on some of this.

The original announcement said 2025, I'm speculating on the 2nd half of 2025 due to the order of projects that makes the most sense.

Fall 2024/Early 2025: Pueblo Esperanza
Early 2025: Big Thunder refurbishment, Tom Sawyer, Rivers of America
Summer/Fall 2025?: Monsters, Inc. Land
I completely agree, especially given that Pueblo is all figured out, BT + Rivers is figured out but they are working on specifics and permit issues, and Monsters while leaning to Courtyard is still not ironed out.

They've managed to stall announcing this leading up to D23 Brazil, conveniently just a few days after we find out what the supposed next HOP iteration would be
