Given that the land’s TSR will no longer serve Italian (if it’s on theme), I’m sure the QSR will stick with bad pizza. If the pepperoni is blue, it will still be nasty pizza but somehow more charming.

Hoping whenever they demo AC buildings, they think of dining while they are at it..

I think that’s the main reason why Monsters went to Grand Avenue.

I've always been skeptical of Villains. Still am. Until they drop more concept deets I'll remain so.
I am not skeptical Villians will happen. Any project which hasn’t started construction and is slated to open as much as 5 years out is always subject to macro economic challenges or individual TWDC financial issues. That being said if you assume no major economic issues I believe the land will happen. Where I’m a little skeptical is what the land will be. I feel like Villians could and should be a “dark fantasyland” with so many good stories to tell. I fear the coaster depicted in the concept art will be the main E ticket. While that may be a fun ride, a coaster doesn’t easily tell good stories. I’d prefer multiple dark ride type attractions and a more fleshed out land but it’s hard to assume anything from really basic concept art.

As far as Monsters and Rockin Muppet Coaster I see no reason these things won’t happen. Monsters is under way already. I am not in the camp that assumes the theater show won’t happen. I think it will. I have no idea whether it will be any good, but it’s very likely happening. Aerosmith was getting removed from RNRC either way. The Muppets need a place in the parks. Pretty simple and easy way to kill 2 birds with 1 stone. The Muppet story telling would have to be in the queue, pre-show and any post ride areas (small gift shop). The ride itself is very fast and over very quickly so not much chance to tell a story. RNRC is a fun ride now that doesn’t have a complex plot or take itself too seriously so it’s a good fit for the Muppets who can add some humor to it as well.

Agreed. It could look nothing like the current concept art. They’ll build something, but it could just be a spinner where we ride Ursula’s tentacles.

That's how I feel. We have a lot of examples of "value engineering" projects of this size, but not outright cancelling them. I could see it being underwhelming, but not cancelled.

Of course, I hope they knock it out of the park.

I agree I feel like it’s a 60/40 chance and I usually roll my eyes when I hear “oh this isn’t going to happen because 2 decades ago a bunch of projects got cancelled heres hoping they don’t cut the more ambitious stuff like they did with galaxys edge (and I love that land)

Which is it? You agree they’ve dragged out the schedule but also keep saying they’re trying to keep to a quick schedule. It can’t be both.
It actually could be both. It makes no sense to me either why they would do what they are doing, but if they decided to do construction on the front half of the land first before fully ramping up the Door Coaster than it explains the quick schedule of construction walls soon and also allows them to spread out costs for the overall project. We all assumed that they would leave the front half open as long as possible while starting on the Door Coaster back stage since that will take the longest but they are not doing that. It’s possible they want to save on operating costs but it’s also possible they want to spread construction costs differently with the more expensive Door Coaster costs of the land coming later in the project.

Either way, if the Blog Mickey post turns out to be true, the construction walls in March would be around the gift shop building and connecting it to back stage allowing them to begin gutting the building before demo. Earlier in the thread you mentioned that they would likely do this with the building so it looks likely that’s what is happening.

They’re not two mutually exclusive issues. The two are tied together. Look at the way they will contort things to keep some venues open during work. They are okay with the negative guest experience impacts and operating cost savings of the longer project timelines which is part of why it is happening.

Not gonna lie, I half expect a phased opening of the land with the show possibly opening late 26. Schedule looks to be picking up speed for Monsters if they're starting builds in March

I hope they do a Sweetums M&G after MV-3D closes, that's all I want. Just shove it in an indoor space. Ideally near Rock but, hey!
That’s interesting and something I hadn’t considered for such a small project. We all assumed they would keep the Muppet front half open as long as possible while building door coaster but they could do the opposite. Close Muppets and restaurants now, redo front half first and reopen as new restaurants, shops and show earlier and finish up the Door Coaster later.
