Yeah, but would you want to be spraying that steam onto the conductors carrying all that voltage at all those amps?
easy to design around

they were originally added for the EPCOT expansion, so Ive always assumed it was somehow a priority to keep them out there@s8film40 Is it just me or does Disney like running monorail coral and lime on the Epcot loop? Just something minor that I noticed over time. It’s probably just coincidental.
Thanks. Sincerely Good observations, but there are two areas they still tend to maintain the beam, the Entrance to MK, and as it goes through Epcot. These beams, the dirty part is where the wheel marks are. The other areas of the beamway are so dirty that the wheel marks literally look clean compared to the rest of the beams.I think there have always been some areas they barely bothered to clean while other areas that took priority. I don’t think we can really say how frequently they cleaned it in the past compared to now without some inside information. When it was new it’s possible it could go years between cleanings while now it looks dirty after months.
Looking at this picture from 1978

I’m not really sure you can say it looks much different.

Should just be coincidental. They try to rotate them around for even wear. If there are trains that they are having issues with, in other words they fixed it but are not too confident about it they will restrict it to express only. There are a few other various reasons they'll put them on certain beams and sometimes they'll end up with kind of the same patterns for a period of time, but these ultimately will change over time.@s8film40 Is it just me or does Disney like running monorail coral and lime on the Epcot loop? There are certainly areas such as MK and Epcot were cleaning is a higher priority and other areas where the beams are more neglected. But that has always been the case.Thanks. IDK.... I think they can of look better in the pics then they do now? Then again... that 1981 pic is looks so..... EMPTY. LOVE IT!!!!There are certainly areas such as MK and Epcot were cleaning is a higher priority and other areas where the beams are more neglected. But that has always been the case.
Check out the Express beam circa 1981

Absolutely correct. Many parts of the monorail beam are disgusting and inIDK.... I think they can of look better in the pics then they do now? Then again... that 1981 pic is looks so..... EMPTY. LOVE IT!!!!
I am going to started taking pictures of current status. These picture are thought provoking and actually fun, but they do not negate the that the condition of beamway today, is in dire need of pressure washing/cleaning.
Uh Oh...
I heard through the grapevine that monorail yellow started smoking. Yikes!!!! That said seems All that was in response to a worst-case scenario. Turned out that monorail yellow was taken offline, she rolled back to the barn under her own power. Downtime was about 30 minutes perhaps slightly less. They were gone fairly quickly so couldn't have been too major. Maybe just a medical issue or something.

I guess you didn’t get itYes! IMO, that was a great train design.
They kept it on there for a solid year. Right?I guess you didn’t get it
The wrap was on there for a long time. But monorail coral was not on the Epcot beam while the wrap was on.They kept it on there for a solid year. Right?
It may have had nothing to do with the door incident or they may have just moved up red in line because of the incident..... Either way they've been working on all the trains on that exact same spot. It started with blue, then went to Orange, yellow and gold have also been done recently. After red returns a train not listed on this post will be next.Ole red is still on the beam at the round house. Over the course of days/weeks/ months since the inccedent it has slowly been inching its way inside the round house. Now the nose of the lead car is barely sticking out. This to me indicates it is getting attention. I'm wondering when we will see it out there again.
Apparently, the express loop had problems today...
Can anyone that was there today let us know how long it went on for, total?
