Honestly, when I was a kid I couldn't have cared less about Mickey's House.

You can't play on anything! Besides this opens up a possible Toontown for the Studios.

Same here. I wanted SSE, not Mickey....:lookaroun

Honestly, if they have a Meet and Greet for him else where in the parks, it'll be fine.

I know. Sept 23rd will be my daughters one year old birthday and we will be going the 23rd through 29th. I am kind of glad she will not remember Mickey and Minnie's homes.:(

I think this thread just further proves the identity problems that Toontown Fair has.

Mickey and Minnie's houses are not being torn down. Mickey and Minnie live in Toontown, CA.

The house at Toontown Fair were simply country summer homes that somehow had giant tents in the backyards.

Imagineering is not stupid, you will still be able to meet the gang somewhere in the Magic Kingdom, but MTF has to go.

And can we please not forget that Mickey's Birthdayland/Starland/Toontown Fair is a TEMPORARY land that is over 20 years old now? It's honestly about time.

If you listen carefully Rusalo says "and someday when our vision of Fantasyland is finally realized..." talking about Pixie Hollow.

It's my thought Pixie Hollow has been cut from the budget and TTF isn't going anywhere for quite awhile. Dumbo's area fits in perfectly with TTF and I can only imagine this was done on purpose in case Pixie Hollow doesn't end up happening.

If it does happen, TTF won't be leaving us until the very end of construction, probably 2012. By then, maybe a real ToonTown will be announced.

"Mommy, why did they tear down Mickey Mouses house?"
"He moved out because he hated his neighbor Stitch over in Tomorrowland. He threw crappy celebrations."

Wait, they are tearing down Mickey and Minnie's house?

NO! I have had my picture taken on Minnie's fireplace every year since I was 4 years old!

What are they putting there?

Where have you been!

Just kidding, you may not have been on or paying a close attention due to disturbances. They are putting in pixie hollow and the expanded Fantasy Land.:sohappy:

I can sympathize. The green AA parrot outside POTC used to be one of our picture spots. My folks have pictures of me when I was little standing under him with the attraction signage and I have pics of my kids there, too. I was so peeved when they did the POTC overhaul and removed the parrot. The parrot (I'm sure he has a name but I don't know it) used to be a sort of midway barker to entice you to want to bust the tickets out to ride. I think it was an E-Ticket attraction but I could be wrong. I was really small when tickets were still in use. I remember gazing at it, hopping up and down, itching for my parents to cough up the tickets so we could go in. Soooo, now my boys sometimes stand in the spot that used to be the spot and we take a picture anyway. We can also go to DTD & take a picture with said parrot in the boys room at WoD.

It's my understanding Mickey & Minnie's country houses (they *do* have their permanent homes in California) will be removed for the Fantasyland expansion but something else will be put in somewhere for them to have vacation homes. So if you need an answer to the question "Why did they tear down Mickey's house?" just say he's spending time at his home in California while a new vacation home is designed and built for him in Florida. You wouldn't be lying! :animwink:

I think expanding Fantasyland with all the princess stuff as well as Pixie Hollow is overkill. Boys will hate it. I'm betting that Pixie Hollow won't happen, and if it does, it will be smaller and Mickey and Minnie will have some sort of digs. It all looks nice, but a bit much. And really only one attraction, Little Mermaid. Well, two if you count an expanded Dumbo. We shall see!

I'm a boy and I'm super excited for TLM and BATB.
