When was the last time two teams who backed into the playoffs so miserably both wound up in the World Series?

The Cardinal win gives Chris 3 points and allows him to leapfrog into the win for the game. Laura had a phenomenal streak, guessing 4 of 6 series right, but Chris nabbed 2 bonuses in his 3 correct guesses and that makes the difference. Shannon also jumps up to 3rd place with the St. Louis win.

Congratulations - you never know in a 7 game series. The DH may actually favor the Cards: they can get Chris Duncan in the lineup. He was their second-best hitter most of the year.

Finally, after all of these years of heartbreak and woe, and of a season full of blown saves, eight game losing streaks, it has finally worked out for us in the clutch. I went and partied in downtown ST. Louis tonite, it was AWESOME!!! Congradulations Cardinals, 2006 World Champions.

My favourite part of this whole World Series: Even the critics hated St. Louis. :lol:

I actually called it that they'd go out with a whimper in Game 5, just to see if it'd come true.
