It wont be complete until they find locations for the rusty bikes and power lines.

It looks like it is going up fast, although I wonder if the actual ride and rockwork is done too early, if park management will just try to get it open and attracting more ppl, sans the details.

The concrete only goes up to a certain point but what will make up the rest of the mountain? Steel and formed cement later on? Of course they had to keep it opened up for track placement but i was just wondering .

I have a question...what is the story that goes with the ride? i heard a monster chases you around the whole ride and the rollar coaster is you running away from him. Is this true? If not what's going to be the story to go along with the ride...Thanks!

You ain't kidding, I have never seen that level of theming before, even at AK. It is VERY good to know that the ability to accomplish this kind excellence is still there! :slurp:

You can almost see it from 192.

Easily seen by the Sports and Rec building and AK Costuming. See it nearly from Maingate offices.

Since you can see the Tree of Life from 192, this means that the mountain will be in plain sight when completed.

Well, they say pictures are worth more than a thousand words and those pics pretty much sum them up. Great photos. I guess the ri La rumor appears to be coming true.
What is the "ri La" rumor?

The drop on the left on the first 3 pictures is the "big" drop that you see in the concept art coming out the front of the mountain. It will be an 85 foot drop. The highest the track will go is 35 feet above that, at 120 feet. The mountain will be roughly twice as high as the piece of track you see on the right side of the first few pictures, which is ~100 feet up. The highest track supports in these pictures are probably nearing 120 feet, meaning they will be able to finish the entire track in the next few months before starting rockwork. Excitement builds!
Does that mean that the mountain will be over 200 feet? If so, why? Then a red light will have to be placed on the mountain. It will not look very good.

All I remember hearing is the encounter with the Yetti. I don't know if he just chases you. It has to be more complex than that!

Hmm.

What 3D simulator is it? What's it called and where can I get one?

No, it's topping off at 199 ft. :)

Someone asked about the construction of it....

I highly doubt it will be as tall as that yellow crane. If it were, they'd need to bring in another, taller crane to finish it off. 99.9% of the time, the crane people will bring the crane only once, to do the whole project, thus, they won't be getting another crane.

As for your questions, WDWFAnatic, yes they will leave it open until steel erection is complete. Then, they'll probably install any interior scenes, etc. Then they'll get out the rebar cages and wire mesh to form the "rock" and then spray it with gunnite (spray-applied concrete). This is done on all Disney mountains.

You can get an exellent view from the top of Summit Plummit, TOT, and I don't know which road is 192 (the one you can see AKL from?) but since you can see AKL from there, Everest will be visible soon. Also, when you take a bus into AK, and you go over the hill to the busloop, you can get a birds eye view, and you can really see how it compares with the Tree Of Life.

TOT, which is the same height as Everest will be, is visible from the Polynesian ampt. complexes (by Mirage Apartments) and that's almost 5 or 6 miles away.

By the way, if they keep up at this pace, the track will be completed in no time. I took my Everest pictures on Sunday, and these were taken on Monday...a whole new section of track has been added since then. Also, it looks like the drop coming out the front of the mountain will go far underground. A big trench was built in the area that looks like the drop will end up in, and a GIANT mountain of dirt was placed at the rivers edge.
