Hey Joanna.. THANKS p/t went great..Cant wait to see the book you are making....:)

That's good! As for the autograph book, it is actually coming along. It won't be the fanciest one around, but it will be homemade. I just got a whole bunch of clipart of the more common characters printed out, and I am going to stencil in their names, so it looks nice. Once done, I will try to post pics of it.

Hi Luke, honey!
Hope you're feeling better!
Missed you!

For sure feeling better. Especially since, after today, I am done with AP testing! :sohappy:

I stole a page of paper from the Macro Free Response booklet today :lookaroun I undid the staples and pulled it out, then redid the staples. You could hardly even tell that I did it.

I was bored :lookaroun

:king:

I can be very devious if i put my mind to it.

And obviously my mind was not being used on the Macroeconomics exam, so I put it to use pilfering slices of paper from the College Board :lookaroun

Lucius, tell me what you thought of The Da Vinci Code!

(I'm not supposed to be called Lucius until Prom!)

I thought it was really good. The first two thirds were absolutely RIVETING. Dan Brown is a mastermind at connecting things. There are some connections that I wouldn't ever have thought could be made, yet he made them.

I thought the last third slowed down a bit, but was still good.

IMO, the Opus Dei storyline, though good and pretty critical, was still a little bit excessive. I don't really see why Aringarosa was even included in the plot. And I hate that name. I cringed everytime I read it. It is not a fun word to read.

There were some parts that I found incongruous, like I remember thinking at one point that Langdon was contradicting himself. Somewhere around when they were first in Teabing's house. But no one can be perfect.

Overall, it was excellent. The story is great, the rising action is INCREDIBLE. It's possibly the most suspenseful book I've ever read and made me want to throw it at my wall after every chapter for opening more doors, but not quite enough.

And, as with most books I read, the ending kind of struck a chord with me. I just wanted it to go on more. I liked the part with Sophie at the end, that was fitting. But the part with Langdon in the epilogue should have kept going, unless Brown plans on writing a sequel...

Oops, sorry, not Lucius, Luke!

Anyway, I agree with your observations.
Aringarosa is a mouthful and made me thing of Ring-around-the-rosy everytime I read it!
It does slow down a bit, but I think that's to stop us from killing ourselves when it's over! I did not want it to end, but at the same time I couldn't wait to see what happens!
There is a sequel in the works I hear!
I just felt it really presented some food for thought.
It just seemed to make sense to me.

Strange, I thought about ring around the rosy too! No joke.

It does make sense, But I don't know if I really believe it.

There's one part of the book where Teabing (or Langdon, can't remember :lookaroun ) says that for some people the Grail is just an object of desire that can never be obtained. I'm one of them.

The people. Not the object of desire that can never be obtained :lookaroun

Why? :lookaroun

Because there was nothing else to do. I answered 1 and 1/3 of the 3 free response questions and then gave up because I didn't undertand the rest. There was nothing else to do. So I decided to write notes to people on the paper, and the only way to keep the not was to take the paper out of the booklet.

I bragged about it the rest of the day :D :lookaroun
