There's one part of the book where Teabing (or Langdon, can't remember :lookaroun ) says that for some people the Grail is just an object of desire that can never be obtained. I'm one of them.

Yeah, I think that's in keeping with Langdon's belief that faith is simply faith.
If it gets you through and doesn't hurt anyone else, who cares what you believe?
If the Grail turned out to be what is suggested, it certainly would upset a lot of applecarts.
In the end I think we believe what we want to be true.
And don't really want to know if it isn't.

One truth in the book I was surprised by was the fact that Venus makes a perfect pentacle in the sky over the course of eight years. That's pretty cool. I didn't know that.

There's more than one meaning of "grail".

In the case of the Da Vinci Code, it still exists in a way that most people would find (a) appalling, and (b) far-fetched.
