I hate to go, but I have work in the morning.

Marcia, it was nice to have you join us!
And thanks for your help this afternoon!
Good night!

Good night Fishy, Susan and last but not least. . . the kid on the mat.

The punishment made impressions on your kids because it wasn't random. They certainly learned from it. Some people use hitting in place of words as a matter of routine. It has no effect then but to instill fear.

Exactly. (IMO) It should be reserved for circumstances where the child's misbehavior puts them in physical danger, rather than just annoying a parent.

Running into the street, playing with matches, running into the ocean ahead of Mommy = spanking/swat

Leaving toys all over, sassing back, not staying in bed = time out, loss of fun activity (toy, TV, favorite game, etc) NO SPANKING

Am I a nerd if not only do I look foreward to reading a book, but I pick out a bookmark that matches the themes of the book?

:lookaroun

I usually always look forward to reading books.

But I never have bonafide bookmarks. Right now I'm using: a reminder of what snack to bring for a party at school (Hamlet), aticket to WDW (Doing It), Geoff Hollister Athletic Club VIP Card (The Varieties of Scientific Experience), and a folded over sticky note which reads "1/17 Wend. 3:00 Building 6" (The Unbearable Lightness of Being).

Real bookmarks are for girly-men :lookaroun

What are you reading and what is the bookmark?

Good Morning all... what a wonderful 24 hours it has been for suprises. I've got a grin a mile wide... partially from my trip - but partially from an act of God.

I hope you all have a wonderful week while we're gone... I'll be thinking about y'all alot! :) Can't wait to see a few of you... wish I could see the rest of you!

I probably won't be on again today... so I figured I'd say my goodbyes!

Love you all dearly!
