Mission Space=Big Flop?

....any ride that can impact equilibrium ....is one that I will stay away from ...period.

....I don't have an inner ear disorder ...never have. But I worked with someone who's in-laws worked at WDW ...so they went OFTEN with the 'family discount'. I worked with his wife too ...and she told me that the first time her husband and her father both went on MS ...they were messed-up the ENTIRE day when they got off the ride. REALLY ...messed up!! So ...that little story made me think ..."Do you want to chance losing a whole day at Epcot ...for ONE ride"?

....my answer has always been a definite ..."NO"!!

I felt that way with the orange version. I'm a thrill ride junkie and it is the only attraction in my entire life that made me queasy -- a queasiness and shakiness that lasted for hours.

The green version (same movie and movement, without the centrifugal force) is a terrific offering, and I've done it many times with nary a hint of stomach trouble or motion sickness. If other simulators (e.g., Star Tours) don't bother you, I think Mission:Space green would be worth your while.

My one son only does the green. My DH won't even do green again as he is claustrophobic. I like the orange version. So does my other son, so we ride it. The last time though, I did feel a bit light-headed and sick. I guess we skip it most of the time as a "family". We prefer Test Track. It is sad though because it could use a good update or something...:(:hungover:

I like Mission: Space and so do my kids. It's become a must do for us every trip. I can understand how it's not for everyone due to the spinning and tiny ride cabins.

God bless the "Ignore" button.
I like the Orange version, but I don't often ride unless there's someone in my group who is up to it. I've never found the Green version worth trying, to be honest.
Honestly, I'm not sure why it's not up there with Soarin' and Test Track. It's one of the more recent things to come from Disney that's truly innovative.

I like MS and the orange version never really bothered me. I would like to see the video get an effects upgrade though. It is looking a bit too much like outdated video game graphics. Maybe randomize some scenarios and give your actions some consequences.

Also the line being split based on intensity probably is what keeps the wait time low, but lets it still reach its crowd numbers.

What defines a flop? The only ride I'm sure is floppy is Stitch.

Before Soarin came along, the majority of the rope droppers hustled over to Mission Space. On busy days, the waits are still kind of long.

A lot of people don't like spinning rides and claustrophobes would totally want to avoid it, so that cuts out a lot of people. It doesn't have the best survival rate of all the newer Orlando rides, lol, and that likely contributed to wariness on the part of many.

I, personally, am not able to judge popularity by my tastes (I really like the new Little Mermaid ride and love the Tiki Room, lol), but I enjoy Mission Space. The queue is great, the pre-show is fun and the ride is cool. :)

For me, it is an ok ride. If you define flop as "lack of a line to ride", then I guess it could be. We were there Thanksgiving week and it only had a 5-10 minute wait for both versions in the middle of the afternoon.

I love riding it, every time I get in I say to the other people "Well, I hope you guys know what you're doing, cause I've never been an engineer before." Then I start hitting the buttons before the ride starts, it's a lot of fun.

I really like it and we ride multiple times each trip but I do hope that when a new sponsor takes it over and (hopefully) they do a MS2.0 that they make it more interactive somehow.

The ride seems ripe for some sort of interactive feature sort of like when you used to chose your method of conveyance at Horizons. I am sure it is far more complicated than I make it out to seem but hopefully there is a way to make it more than just a get in..ride along...get out (and try not to lean on the wall as you make the long walk down the hall from orange).

I like it. I've only ever done orange. Sometimes it makes me dizzy sometimes I feel fine. We always hit SSE right after so we can sit in a dark cool area and it helps with the dizziness.
