Yes, in your opinion... And i have mine. I also have never said I had a problem with them putting a test seat nearby, they should. I have a problem with the OP saying that Disney should redesign the ride for them! And if you are too big for the ride do something about it or move along.
Eh..
Well, I'm pretty positive that just because someone doesn't fit on the 7dmt doesn't mean they are obese.
Could be a number of reasons. Some people have thicker legs or longer legs. I know quite of few people with large muscular legs that probably would be uncomfortable too.
No they shouldn't have to change anything, but it has been pretty unanimous that the vehicles are just too small in general, even for those that fit, they find there is no room to store a bag.

Where did the OP say that Disney should redesign the ride for them? All he said in his original post was that it sucked that he waited so long to be told he couldn't ride in front of everyone. He made a comment later about how the ride COULD be redesigned, but even that didn't strike me as something he expected to see happen. At that point, he was expressing an opinion, not trying to start a campaign to close the ride down today to modify it.

Besides, as @PrincessNelly_NJ and others have pointed out, not everyone who has found this to be a snug fit is feeling that way due to obesity. How should those whose legs are too muscular or too long to "do something about it?"

I have a severe issue with the comment "do something about it" - in the case of HEIGHT - if someone is too tall for an attraction they CANT do anything about it. If someone is OVERWEIGHT - yes I/WE can do something about it and as others have said - we are doing something about it - we are making the argument that they need to add a test seat! And this test seat is for anyone not limited to height or overweight people. And it is nice that you can say "move along" but if someone stands in line for 90+ minutes only to be turned away - that is embarrassing and no one wants that to happen on a disney holiday. This is 2014 not 1994 - back then I do not recall test seats in any theme park. Especially when the "one sized fits all" model no longer applies!

No one said they should "close the ride down". And if a NBA player can fit as shown in the pics, we all know this thread isnt about height.

actually this should be an easy fix.. instead of a SPLIT safety bar , make it one bar.. like most rides.. or at least make one or two cars in say the back seat , with a single bar across.. I was in the car.. just could not get my knees in between the single safety bar..

its just really unfair.. there is only one other ride, Winne the Pooh, that we cannot ride.. because the cars make my knees ache.. each and every other ride on base, I was able to get into with ease.. and as for the 'single bar" I rode splash mountain and my bar NEVER LOCKED IN PLACE.. I pulled it to me.. it just went right back.. and no one cared..again. this is an easy fix.. you make one or two cars for BIG ADULTS.. this is not an impossibility.. just the shortsightedness, of a bean counter in charge..

I think they should have a test seat as well, and we all know I'm not talking about height.

@alissafalco is right about that. On page 2 I think. He mentioned that is was unfair that Disney didn't make the seats big enough for guest like his self.
But again almost everyone else on here was just worried they wouldn't fit for whatever reason but accepted it and just asked for a test seat instead.

It is about leg length, not necessarily about height. I shared a picture from Josh @ Easy Wdw and he stated that he was uncomfortable because of his leg length.

No one said they should "shut the ride down". And if a NBA player can fit as shown in the pics, we all know this thread isnt about height.

But you said he was implying they should fix the ride for him. I'm saying that, the way I understand his posts, he's just speculating about what could be done. He was very objective. He made a point to say the CM's took care of him and that he still had a great trip. Hardy sounds like what would be said if he was really trying to actually convince anyone to modify the ride.

Okay... so he called someone shortsighted. The part you bolded sounds more like him saying it would have been easy to do that when the ride was built imo...

Either way, not worth arguing over. I think we can all agree the real issue here is that Disney should put a train car out front so no one has to go through that.

Hershey Park, Pa. I cannot ride the Wildcat because the seats are too small even though I went from 300 to 170 pounds. My legs just don't fit either, never mind my former girth. I have a lot of muscle on my legs, and will get cramps from being mushed into a seat that is way to small except for the skinniest and shortest people.

Now 7DMT, not sure, but willing to try it out. My wife is on the heavier side, but she is going to try it. What many, including my wife and I, will Have to Accept is that the coaster is more for children than any other age group. Great if parents and other adults can ride. But if you have to, leave it for the kids an move on.

I applaud your mature attitude about it, @Victor Kelly
Way to be.

It seems we're all missing the point -- it was designed for the Seven Dwarves!

You know, I somehow missed this post before. Good on YOU for being one of the rare few on this forum post to be willing to put out the effort to make the ride work for you rather than expecting Disney to revamp a brand new ride, or redesign the cars/lapbars, etc, etc. KUDOS! I am working on losing some weight myself... trying to get rid of my "spare tire" before our trip in December '14; I have around 20-30 more pounds to go.

Good luck on your weight loss! You knock it out of the park, @joannecasey !! Show those cheeseburgers who's boss!

Thank you ... and good luck to you as well !!!!!!!! I have much more than 20-30 to go but one pound at a time and by 2015 I will be riding that coaster !!!!

You can go back and read my stance on this in the early pages... Not every ride is meant for everyone. And If your size limits you, then so be it... the world is NOT all inclusive. This ride may go against the last 50 years of Disney Park Rides, meaning no one ever really had a problem before, but it's ok. (Still looking at you over there Forbidden Journey). It's ok. We all move on.

BUT...

The attitude give by @alissafalco is rather sad. "DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT"... very empathetic, ma'am. You see not all heavy folk are sitting on the couch slamming cookies and ice cream in their faces... and sadly some people work darn hard at trying to loose weight to no avail, or to yo-yo weight loss. It's not as easy for some as it is for others.

Judging a person does not define who they are, it defines who YOU are.

I'm well aware of the struggles of weight loss, and I don't think that all heavy people are sitting on the couch slamming cookies. I never judged anyone. My attitude is realistic, yes, do something about it or move along. I feel its the OP's attitude that is sad not mine. He feels WDW should redesign the cars because of his problem. WDW bends over backwards as it is to accommodate people with special needs AND overweight people. He's the one with the problem, not WDW.
