Mine Ride Construction Update

I am really excited for this attraction. It looks like a fun coaster with some nice show scenes and good theming. I think it is going to be a huge hit for Magic Kingdom and New Fantasyland.

Me to I just hope that there are enough dark ride portions so that I'm not disappointed!

I expect one solid section through the mine with all the animatronic dwarves, and one nice finale with Snow and the 7 Dwarves in the cottage. Good music, theming, and a fun coaster go a long way. :)

There is definitely something there, you can see it in the picture below. It appears to just be a bridge.

Does it look really big in this picture and not in reality or is it just me? Probably because all I've seen is wall for the longest time.

It looks like portions of the track are REALLY close to the edges of the ride...what sort of barrier do you think they will have to separate guests from the track?

Good to see that they are working on filling the mountain again. At the first photo's it looks they quite far but then you see the circus side and you think wow there not there yet.
Maybe they will keep doing more work during the day, i like to see it working in May.

From the Imaginner Chat, when asked about an opening date the answer was:

"We’re looking at 2014 and we haven’t set a date yet."

But in a piece of actually interesting news, they have just started push-pull testing where they move the cars through the ride by hand.

They are still saying the cars will swing. I know some people were getting skeptical about this.

" The height restriction is 38 inches, which is typical of a lot of our attractions."

"The storyline is from the dwarfs’ perspective, although there are special appearances - cameos - from other key characters within the film. Just be careful who you take apples from!"

This might be confirmation that we will see the witch.

"Jenn Fickley-Baker:
Our reader Patricia also had a good follow-up question, which is, ‘I’ve seen a pretty little cottage in concept art for the ride and have spotted the steel shell of it being built now…and I wonder if that will be a building that guests walk through to get onto the ride.’ Can you tell us?"

"The cottage appears as an iconic show element within the whole mine train attraction and you will be able to look into the scenes and you see it in the distance as you approach the mine."

Sounds like confirmation that you will not walk through the cottage which some people have speculated on.

I will admit, we got more info from this chat then the last two, but they set a very low standard.

ya know... the more I see the ride thru video... the more I think this ride could be very neat in a few ways. Not only the swaying effect, but the indoor/outdoor adventures with the surroundings and scenery including the castle and fantasyland itself in the distance will be very cool.
