This photo could simply be from the maintenance bay area of the attraction, and not the actual guest facing area.

I wouldn't expect the maintenance area to be so worried about covering up access/view of the under-carriage of the train cars. Those areas need to be exposed in maintenance areas to be able to work on them.

does anyone know is each car invidual on it's own or is it a line of them linked together. I heard only 2 link together kind of like space mountain.

or they could be working on the inside out of sight - there is a lot of indoor parts of this ride.I know there were guys working when we were there a few weeks ago. I was walking by with the wall on my right but looking at something on my left when I totally ran into two workers exiting!I apologized profusely because I absolutely did not expect anyone to be walking out one of the doors! Thank goodness they were nice about it. I mentioned I didn't think anyone was in there and they said there wasn't at the moment. That crew was done for the day and they were going to get ice cream.
The simulation videos of the ride all show multiple cars linked together. Appears to be at least 3 cars in a train.

If it's not open by this time next year, they should shut down all the parks and try something completely different.

Mine ride went through it's first drop test. Interesting thing in this picture is that train has 5 cars.
