I'll be right there with you! I feel like I've been watching them work on it forever.

The last I heard was they needed different wheels or something that they had to custom make because there aren't any coasters like this. Every year I go to knoebels and just stare at flying turns hoping one day it really opens!! It's such a shame.

Looks like a ride called Rolling Thunder that opened in 1989 at Six Flags Great America.

Here is a video of a test run of Flying Turns...

It is odd how a ride from Knoebels ends up on this site. This ride should just be tore down 5 years and nothing. I live 10 minutes from Knoebels and for it to be on this site is funny. Flying turns has to be the biggest Amusement Park failure ever.

How is it a failure? They're building a ride not seen in decades and have remained committed. It's not like they have a giant corporation pouring resources into the project.

It is a big failure because the fact of start building it in 2006. It was to open in 2007. Now its 2013 and it still is not opening. So that make 7 years building the same ride. I hope they get it right sometime this year but not looking good. It's not only my option it is a lot of people option around here. Anyway this is a site for Disney World so I am done with this comment.

So is this anything like what 7DMT will be like?

Nope, absolutely not. Insiders and those in construction can shed better light on it, but its just a steel coaster. With new cars that sway, but nothing like this.TBH a coaster like Flying Turns is kinda scary for me haha...

This is such a neat ride! I hope the 7DMT can create an effect that feels somewhat like this! I just got super excited for 7DMT to be completed.

I think those twisty tracks look cool and will add to the experience. Personally, I'm really looking forward to the 7DMT and think that it has gotten a bad rap on these pages. It's not going to be a big huge thrill ride, but I think it will be a very popular and fun ride for families and people who don't like more intense rides. The show scenes combined with the shaking motion will be an interesting mix and make it a fairly unique experience.

Now, I still think the FLE overall should have had more (at least one more ride) but this still looks like a solid addition.
