No it isn't. it just has that optional user interface for today's consumer who is scared of any interface that is slightly more complex than their smartphones and tablets.Win 8 is a phone/tablet OS.

Off topic a bit but MSFT stock is dropping like a stone today PC sales are way down and Win 8 has a played a part in that. Get ready for the new Xbox 720 from what I know about it, Xbox 720 will be MSFT's next flop. There are some MS fans out there but Win 8 is a solution looking for a problem. Win 8 is a phone/tablet OS.
I love my Apple products.
Here's what I had to do to make it work perfectly: Plug it in.
Ta-Da!
No calling, no paying for stuff, no downloading, no support. No "uninstall and reinstall". Never needed it.
I am so glad I got rid of Windows. No problems since.
And maybe it isn't perfect. And maybe (likely) I use it because because I don't know a lot about computers. Don't care! It works!
So you all go on ahead and say how dumb we Apple users are while you fix stuff, wait for updates, tweak things, help each other, etc. I'll stick to being blissfully ignorant and use something that always works.
Love Apple. It costs more, but it's worth every penny.
Test Track having an oopsy

Until they get it right?...That is exactly MS's problem, how many times does an OS need to be redone???

newfs /dev/hda1So how would you do it "right"
Go look up Chrome book numbers. Brand new product and it's sales are ramping right up. The market for laptops and desktops is not dead a tablet simply can't do what a laptop can. I would bet heavily that if Google comes out with a full on desk top OS it would fly off the shelves. Also you assume one is taking the place of the other and that usually isn't the case. I have a desktop for work and a laptop for non work stuff. That won't change any time soon.
Vista was an abortion. There is no spinning that. Windows 7 is what Vista should have been.Vista! That is when I left Microsoft! I had been such a fan, too. Always liked them so much and was so grateful for Windows, which was what really allowed me to start using computers...it was so much easier.
But had to give up on them and jump ship. Apple was even more easy.
Oooh, so clever!Apple Blu-ray support has been outstanding!
Hands down to the best post of the week I can't stop laughing.Weird that no one has mentioned this but I think they are closing the parks because of this.
So you are a CP. lolThe computer systems where I work are still running Windows 98 lol Works fine.
A what?So you are a CP. lol
