It does..But, it's not...That Mickey figure looks like one they reused from the Mickey Mouse Revue.

The only time I had seen it was at the 2011 D23 Expo..Wasn't that figure in the queue somewhere in One Man's Dream?
Actually just found a photo, it’s not a very tall addition needed. Just enough to get the top of the proscenium up.

What you've highlighted is actually the Hall of Presidents, where the center video screen lifts up (and the side screens slide out to the wings) to reveal the iconic AAs. In the previous version, this was done with a really breathtaking shot of a space shuttle taking off, with the center screen rising with the shuttle while the side screens were 'pushed' out by the exhaust; the current version has the screens move similarly, but the imagery is far less memorable.Actually just found a photo, it’s not a very tall addition needed. I've circled the PhilharMagic proscenium penthouses in blue, below. These were added to the existing building to allow the vertical side panels to slide up and out of view. The middle horizontal piece moves up into the existing fly space, which was relatively deep because of the lighting that was needed for Mickey Mouse Revue (and later Legend of the Lion King).

And while the MK building may look fairly short from the outside, keep in mind that it's actually "sunken" several feet into the ground, since MK's Fantasyland sits atop the main part of the Utilidor. Guests descend a couple feet down a ramp into the holding room, which then matches the highest row of seating in the theater. Although not as pronounced, the TDL and HKDL versions similarly have depressed waiting areas with the audience sloping down farther
In contrast, DCA's Muppet theater was built on the cheap with its lowest point flush to the ground, and the rest of the building rising above it. There's also no appreciable space above the ceiling that could be converted for use here; they didn't even bother copying the fireworks panels from the ceiling in WDW. While they could presumably do something to jazz up the space, I wouldn't get my hopes up; certainly nothing that would help the ultra-wide aspect ratio in a meaningful way
I've personally never understood the film's perennially popularity in WDW, where it's routinely rated among the best attractions at the resort. I suspect it's partly due to its location in Fantasyland, where it is often the only attraction with a wait shorter than 45 minutes. It's a perfectly serviceable distraction to spend 15 minutes seated indoors, but I wouldn't be bothered if I never saw it again.
It seems like a really odd fit for DCA, where the theater won't have the practical effects, the foot traffic is minimal, the theme is a stretch, and there are tons of repeat visitors. I'm sure this is a hasty reaction to try and have something (anything!) to counter-balance the SWL crowds, but I don't think a bare bones version of 16-year old CGI will be a blip on the radar. Honestly, they would probably be better off bringing back MuppetVision for a limited run, and spinning it as fan service
Meh. So many people will be coming for PhilharMagic that they will be turning guests away from a surely overcrowded, overly-in-demand theater. PhilharMagic is totally enough on its own to counteract some little space land thing at Disneyland, that other park that people still like more for some reason.Anyone else think a Soarin Over California announcement may be coming soon? It’s another little thing they can do at DCA.
Personally, I don't think that ride is coming back AT ALL. Maybe as an anniversary thing, but I doubt it.Anyone else think a Soarin Over California announcement may be coming soon? It’s another little thing they can do at DCA.

Less than 10 months for USH, but unless if they’ve been somehow keeping it super secretive (without any permits having been filed, no less) I don’t see how Disney could’ve drastically changed the theater with no signs of it happening before the aforementioned announcement.Does anybody know how many months it took to change Shrek 4D to Panda in Hollywood? The entire theater was gutted with new seats and a 180 degree theater installed... they also completely revamped the facade, entrance, preshow and queue in that same time... So I'm guessing DCA will get the full version...?
Anaheim City Council was in on it as a way to show good will and that they’re turning over a new leaf with Disney....Less than 10 months for USH, but unless if they’ve been somehow keeping it super secretive (without any permits having been filed, no less) I don’t see how Disney could’ve drastically changed the theater with no signs of it happening before the aforementioned announcement.

I get what you’re saying @Darkbeer1....
