So I wanted to know what people think of the MNSSHP? If anyone has any pictures they can post that would be a great help. Me and the family are planning a trip to WDW during October and were curious to see any photo's or input. Also, does anyone know when they will post the dates of the party? :sohappy:

Take a look at my website (link in my signature below) and look for MNSSHP 2009 - you`ll find HalloWishes, Villains Mix n Mingle, plus Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party 2009 and Boo to You Parade HD. The latter video should give you an idea of the general park atmosphere.

I think MNSSHP is the absolute bee's knees. I was not prepared for how much I fell in love with the whole experience.

Here are a few pics, though they aren't the best. I just have a basic point and click camera.

These are actual patrons who dressed up. Not Disney sponsored characters. They were amazing!!

Sorry, the Headless Horseman was hard for me to capture.

Anyway, these are just a few pics. You can find others in the picture of the day thread. I do highly recommend it. We went twice last year and I would give anything to be able to go again this year but I don't think another Disney trip is in my budget right now. :(

Hope you get to go.

Definitely worth the extra ticket price. Candy is plentiful - Lines are not long - the parade and fireworks are awesome - as well as seeing the villains. We would not think twice about going back - it is a must do for us.

Yes I have to echo the thoughts and sentiments of the previous replies to this post.

Martin's Boo To You Parade video is definitely professional quality, make sure and watch it! It is simply the best video available of Disney's best parade.

harveyt0206 put it best when he said "not being prepared"... my wife and I were also not prepared with how much we would come to love everything about the evening. The parade, the fireworks, the whole atmosphere of the entire park is different... we simply love MNSSHP.

Dinardo says it's a must do... yeah that's exactly how we feel. It is a must do and we too don't think twice about going each year.

I don't think anyone has answered this yet. If you go to the WDW site and click on the park hours for the Magic Kingdom in September (or in your case, when they release the October hours) if they still haven't announced the dates for the MNSSHP, any day that the Magic Kingdom closes at 7 will probably be a MNSSHP date. Just FYI!

MNSSHP is a blast! We went last October for the first time, and our family of 4 dressed up as Hitchhiking Ghosts. We got soooo many compliments, and it was such fun being in the theme of things. I'll try to link a photo, but I never seem to be able to figure out how to do that.

If you have tickets to the party, you can arrive at 4pm even though the party officially starts at 7pm, so we got a very long time in the MK for the ticket price. Lines were pretty short. The Boo to You Parade and Hallowishes were fantastic. And the trick-or-treating in the park was fun for all. I highly recommend. it.

Hate to crash the party but I have to be honest, my husband and I had a terrible time. We went Thursday Oct. 1st of last year. It was so crowded that we didn't get a chance to do everything that was offered. Which is sad considering you have to pay so much to get in. We were there for the entire time, 7-12, didn't go on any rides and didn't stop to eat. The lines to meet the characters were so long- we waited 45 minutes for Snow White and the 7 dwarfs, 45 minutes for Jessie, Woody and Bullseye, and 30 minutes for Minnie. My husband and I both agreed we would only go back to another MK party if less tickets were sold. We were going into it thinking it was going to be this special, intimate experience. Instead it was an over crowded, chaotic mess! I'm not saying don't go, just don't go into it thinking you can experience everything that is offered. As long as you pick say, two things you really want to do, you will be fine.

Hi DisneyDreamer. I certainly can undersand your sentiments and think you make a great point. The meet and greets can be very frustrating and take up a significant amount of time. I personally didn't do any of the meet and greets but instead chose to ride rides and watch the parades, etc... So I do think your point is very valid. I don't think it is possible to do it all so it's definitely something the original poster will want to consider in making his decision.

I think I might be biased because we got engaged during MNSSHP on Halloween this past year. But it honestly is alot of fun and very unique. I would definetly suggest not going on Halloween unless you are ok w/ longer lines for everything. We've gone in 2008 and 2009 and are hoping to go again this year. In 2008 it was a much calmer night b/c it was in late Sept., we got to go on rides, candy trails, and watch fireworks/parade.

Although the dates aren't out officially for MNSSHP, if you look at the calendar for MK, you can almost bet that the nights it closes at 7pm are the nights that they will have the parties.

I would suggest that before one buys a ticket to this or MVMCP, one checks to see if that is a discount night for DVC/Passholder/etc. Those nights, based on my experience, tend to be more crowded than an ordinary weekday night. I'm a passholder and DVC member, and I often buy tickets to those parties on other nights without the discount. I don't mind paying a bit more just so MK isn't horribly crowded on those nights. So far, that has worked quite well.

Looking back on it, I do kind of wish we didn't do so many meet and greets. I just love meeting the characters so getting pictures with the rare ones was an absolute must for me :) I know the dwarfs only comes out at the Halloween Party, as well as some of the villains like Jafar, Snow Queen, Maleficent, etc. So we did spend a significant amount of time waiting in line to meet them. Afterwards we just felt like we didn't get to really enjoy the party. Our entire night was spent frantically running from one thing to the next. And because of that we ended up with a terrible spot for Hallowishes. We left exhausted and upset that we missed things. We were so busy I remember yelling at my husband when he wanted to stop to go to the bathroom :ROFLOL:

My fiancee and I plan on taking my two boys next October and they both want to do the party as do we. However a big concern for me is how bad are the crowds going to be in October due to the 40th anniversary in addition to the regular MNSSHP crowds.

What are everyone's thoughts on this?
