Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

my fiance' and I are going for our Honeymoon Oct 12th (for 10 days) and we cannot wait to do MNSSHP . My bday is halloween so we're WAY into it! This will be our 1st MNSSP so we are buying tickets for two different nights to make sure we can do everything. (of course that might not work for everyone as it is pricey)

We went in Sep 2008 and it was the best time weve ever had a WDW they really put on a special show with unusual characters, special shows and fireworks, exclusive merchandise and as mentioned the parade is one of the best. This year we are heading to Disneyland and are hoping to do the halloween party over there has anyone got any feedback on how it compares to WDW?

I think that is awesome. We did it twice on our last trip and I personally felt it was money well spent. You are right, it is pricey but I chose not to buy any souvenirs and put that money towards my ticket. When it comes to Disney, I tend to rob Peter to pay Paul so that I can go.

Looking back on it, I do kind of wish we didn't do so many meet and greets. I just love meeting the characters so getting pictures with the rare ones was an absolute must for me :) I know the dwarfs only comes out at the Halloween Party, as well as some of the villains like Jafar, Snow Queen, Maleficent, etc. So we did spend a significant amount of time waiting in line to meet them. Afterwards we just felt like we didn't get to really enjoy the party. Our entire night was spent frantically running from one thing to the next. And because of that we ended up with a terrible spot for Hallowishes. We left exhausted and upset that we missed things. We were so busy I remember yelling at my husband when he wanted to stop to go to the bathroom :ROFLOL:

Poor hubby!! No potty breaks? :ROFLOL:Hey, at $50+ per ticket, I totally get it. I do have to admit that I absolutely ADORE Snow Queen and having been trying for years to get a pic with her. I really thought MNSSHP was going to be my chance but I totally missed her. :fork:

100% my fault since I was running around the park instead of paying attention to the meet and greets. So I am totally jealous you have a pic with her.

I took my 2 daughters to MNNSHP on October 23rd this past year. Honestly, I would've passed on the evening, but older DD was in the College Program and received discounted tickets. Younger DD really wanted to go so I figured why not?

It was so much fun! I hadn't trick or treated in, well more than a couple of decades. The parade was fabulous. The decorations, the fireworks, the characters were all wonderful. My only regret was that we didn't bring costumes with us because we didn't think we were going to attend. If I ever get the chance to go again, I'll be in costume. Oh, and I wish DH had the chance to see everything, but he did get to see the Christmas decorations when he went down in January to pick up the older DD and bring her home.

Wow this is too funny. I will also be on my honeymoon Oct 12 and will also be going to MNSSHP. My "husband" and I will be dressing up too. I will be wearing a poodle skirt & he will be the bad boy. Maybe we'll see ya there.

BTW my son's bday is also 10-31 & he loves it!

ha thats awesome that you'll be on your honeymoon too! where are you staying? we're staying at POFQ.

We want to dress up but not sure how. I suggested LOST members of the dharma initiative but think the jumpsuits will be too hot. any one have any couples costumes suggestions?

I think I'm also a little biased to MNSSHP because we went while on our honeymoon in 2005. Both my husband and I had a great time and the atmosphere was so much fun! We went on a weeknight (I think it was a Tuesday) and were able to ride our favorite rides, catch the parade (which is my favorite next to Spectro), and HalloWishes. After the fireworks we hit up a few more attractions and even one of the candy trails. We didn't really have much of an agenda and wandered around the park just enjoying the evening. I'm so glad we got tickets for it!

I can't wait to experience MNSSHP again!

We've been going to MNSSHP for about 4 years now and we have an absolute blast each time, it also helps when your son's birthday is October 30th. It's always been hit or miss on the ride lines. The must see things are always crowded but you will get on just be a little patient and as ussual the later into the night the lines seem to get shorter. As some have already said however you may not be able to do everything there is to offer. You will need to set your priorities. My advice is to do the things that you would not be able to do unless attending the event. If comes down to wanting to do the mix and mingles and dance parties or riding Space Mountian I would choose the dance parties. Unless this is the only night you are going to be at the Magic Kingdom you can ride Space Mountian an other time. It's not every night you can go trick or treating. Take your time to take in all of the atmosphere as well. These nights have a different vibe then your standard night. Most of all just enjoy yourself. Don't get all stress out because you didn't have a dead center view of the castle during Hallowishes or you couldn't get a photo of every villian because if you do no matter how much you experience you will not be very satisfied. This is a party and the best thing about a party is you never know what will happen.
