It's actually a very very good Flat Ride. Another reason why I think Cars Land is the best land stateside. So I take it you will not be riding any of the 3 rides in TSL after it opens?
Considering that this is the same ride system as what TSL is getting...
Sure looks like a family ride to me! Or I guess kids are a lot taller today?

AK needs more dark ridesIt's a filler ride, but DHS needs a lot more than 3 e-tickets and a filler ride.
Animal Kingdom is really the park that needs something like this. Animal Kingdom has 4 great E-Tickets, and beautiful shows and landscaping, but still needs some filler to help attract kids.
That Mater ride looks boring as heck! It looks like it's something on par with the tea cups. Or tea cups 2.0 if you will. It seems like something I would ride once or twice and then be done with it. Hoping I'm wrong and will be pleasantly surprised.

DAK and DHS need them. And more rides in general.
The Mater ride is a lot of fun, but a huge amount of that is the soundtrack (Mater singing car-themed country) and its integration into the larger, wonderful "whole" of Carsland. That Mater ride looks boring as heck! Hope they add some effects for the Green Alien Spinner during the night. The Mater ride is a lot of fun, but a huge amount of that is the soundtrack (Mater singing car-themed country) and its integration into the larger, wonderful "whole" of Carsland.
The TSL version won't be part of a fulfilling whole, and I'm not sure how the roof will effect the experience. I also think the Alien theming is a lot more forced then Mater's. That said, I have more hope for this then for the coaster - a lot will depend on the effects and soundtrack.
As a somewhat cynical adult, I have to say that Mater was WAY more fun to ride than I expected it to be looking at pictures. Luigi on the other hand...So I take it you will not be riding any of the 3 rides in TSL after it opens?

Although we won't know until we see the actual speed that Slinky reaches going around the track, but I am thinking this will me much closer to BTMRR than Barnstormer...They literally just put a video out where an Imagineer explains that Slink Dog is NOT a kiddie ride. It's a family coaster that is "thrilling but not scary."
Actually... if everything can be enclosed and air conditioned, it would be greatly appreciated.
Agreed. Mater might look boring, but when you actually get on and ride, it feels a lot quicker than it looks and is actually quite fun. It's not off the shelf ride from Bug's Land thats for sureWe all rode it a number of times, laughing all the way! It may not be Everest, but for us it was far from "boring". Oh, the little kids liked it, too. Can't wait for the little green men!
I've an idea but will wait for confirmation.Do we know how many people will fit into each ride vehicle?
