My understanding is a train where the cars link and unlink.

And then, I would presume, the laws of cartoon trains take over. Each car winds up switched to different tracks and has to avoid different obstacles while Mickey manically tries to save everyone by throwing the correct switches and Goofy blithely keeps making things worse.

I think you might see what one of the ride vehicles or AA's might look like in one of the photos.

From the looks of that I'm guessing people who thought this would be ALL screenz will be very happy.
I bet this is going to be an attraction that blows everyone away and that really changes the game.
I have a feeling this will be the new favorite ride of many many people. I hope this makes it's way out to DCA soon after!!!

That Mater ride looks boring as heck! It looks like it's something on par with the tea cups. Or tea cups 2.0 if you will. It seems like something I would ride once or twice and then be done with it. Hoping I'm wrong and will be pleasantly surprised.
Oh, believe me, it's my favorite ride.;) In all seriousness though, generally flat rides aren't meant to be mind-boggling like Radiator Springs Racers is, but as far as they go MJJ is very well themed, adds to the land, and is unique. It's also fun, the silly kind of fun where you're super sarcastic and are there to have a hell of a good time without a care for the world. At least that is my opinion :D.
I'm excited for it, making a California trip for next year!
Enjoy! If you have enough time take it slowly, soak up the surroundings, and take advantage of the generally quick queue times.

I cant wait, Since the first rumors i thought this is going to be a huge surprise to most people, who are looking at all of the other big announcements... and honestly a great replacement for a tired attraction
Thanks for being positive. I too am confident it will be a worthy replacement. I'm just a bit sad that we won't be hearing Hooray for Hollywood anymore.

The Mater ride is a lot of fun, but a huge amount of that is the soundtrack (Mater singing car-themed country) and its integration into the larger, wonderful "whole" of Carsland.

The TSL version won't be part of a fulfilling whole, and I'm not sure how the roof will effect the experience. I also think the Alien theming is a lot more forced then Mater's. That said, I have more hope for this then for the coaster - a lot will depend on the effects and soundtrack.
Larry The Cable Guy actually speaking Spanish was hilarious.

Just another reason to love the best land in North America. DLP's Frontierland gets the edge IMHO for the Western Hemisphere.:)

It's already been said there will be..... figures.
It looks like in the photo of the Imagineer with the model, a car with two basic "figures" (aka Minnie and Mickey" that will likely be projected faces. As their body is in the car, it will be largely non articulated. Thinking they will be largely static figures, with the projection mapped faces ie the Seven Dwarves Mine Train.

C-3PO with projected faces?

I know you probably don't know this, but to any insiders: Are the scenes in these pictures going to be part of the ride?

No. The signage specifically says something to the effect that here are examples of the style as seen in these stills from the current Mickey Shorts. (...As seen on YouTube, since the stills screen capped the 'subscribe here' button. :in pain::D )
