Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

Well in this case I hope they re right and your info is slightly outdated. Lol.

How reliable are they anyway? I just recently started reading some of their articles when folks over here post links from time to time.
Sources are pretty decent, but they jump the gun heavily. Go onto the owners Twitter and have fun reading his whining. If he didn't act like a jerk and constantly shout "Why are there forums still around anyways" and making open comments that are directly traced back to here, he'd probably be a more welcomed person. It's not only this site that has issues with him either.

....so nearly everything that's already been said in this thread?

Exactly.

This is the second time this Mr. Corless gentleman has done this just this month alone; he apparently reads these threads on this forum, rehashes it into a five or six paragraph Word document, and then regurgitates it onto his blog as his latest "BREAKING NEWS CONFIRMED!" clickbait thing.

It's obvious what he's doing and it's rather shameless, but it does make you laugh.

Hahah I suspect he does some of this as well but let’s wait and see if anything is announced at Destination D. Of course he could just be reading all the rumors here and swinging for the fences. I mean if they don’t announce anything at Destination D then “plans always change” right.

My only problem with that is say you do get in line to meet Mickey at the barn once you get off the ride, is that the Mickey you meet is the traditional Mickey and will look nothing like the Mickey you just saw on the ride since they are using that more modern style which I can't stand at all.

Eh, I think it's going to be okay. The Mickey you meet in the park has never quite looked like the Mickey on screen.

In the 1950's and 60's the difference between TV Mickey and Disneyland Mickey was not just jarring, it induced nightmares.

Also where is Mickey and Minnie's tails?

The difference between them and the insiders on our forums is that our people seem to wait for more confirmation before they share information, while the other site is a loose cannon.
Something else I’ve noticed about insiders here is that they often wait for other people to bring something up before spilling any beans on it. Martin on the WDW forums often does this. A good method of remaining credible while not developing a reputation as a loose-lips gossiper.

In many instances, I think our insiders are more just rumor corroborators rather than breaking things themselves to pad their own egos...

EDIT: That is not a knock on them in any way shape or form. That's how an insider should function IMO.

On the rare chance they actually reveal something new (not recycled days later from a forum), there has been some credibility to it. Kind of like where there is smoke sometimes someone here then goes on to point out where the fire specifically is.

They were the only people who had any semblance of Hong Kong Expansion project, clearly a fairly large project, before it was released. Moments before it was released Spirit was going on about how everything in Hong Kong was on hold/cancelled.

I don't understand why the site owner acts like a toddler sometimes though, I have nothing against the website outside of that.

Circa Spring 2017 Martin clearly had the most amount of WDW sources on the net, but I don't really trust his knowledge beyond that resort. Nor is he admittedly all that interested.

That's my biggest issue and I would go beyond toddler. His behavior sometimes is pretty reprehensible.

Assuming for a second that the announcement time and location are correct, they make odd choices as to where they announce things. A Disneyland announcement in Florida, Largely WDW announcements at D23 in California, and Avatar in Tokyo (I understand they were trying to convince OLC at the time.)

Since Destination D this year is all about Mickey's 90th it does make sense they'd use it to announce the attraction for DLR.

Wow, another new ride??

DLR is revving things up again! It's crazy to think a year ago I thought we would only have SWL for like the next five years lol. Now to know we are getting ML with a new ride the year after and this a few more years later is pretty exciting. Of course Disney has not officially said anything about the rumored Spider-Man ride and now this but it sounds like something is happening. We know ML is going to have an attraction of some kind.

And if this is true its cool finally SOMETHING is being added in Toontwon after literally two decades of being ignored. I said here a few months ago I can see TT being on the chopping block soon, but looks like I was wrong. If so great, make Toon Town great again!

It's a fun time to be a global Disney fan! :)

I wonder where the Mickey store is going to go? Obviously, Chapek wouldn’t green light losing a store unless it’s replaced with another store.

In an alternate universe (that came with competent, nonrestrictive executive management) this would be a wondrous opportunity for Disney to re-develop all of Toontown in conjunction with implementing Runaway Railway. Dust off past concepts such as Tokyo's once early rendition of Toontown: Mickey's Toon Ville.

Specifically converting some of the Fab Five residences into full functioning stores that reflect some of their personality traits such as a music store for Mickey and a candy store for Minnie.

Yes.... I don’t hear that much about other resorts. DL more than the others. The odd bit here and there.

But since it’s looking like I’ll be going east and west next year I’d better open my ears a bit more

They really should gut out the chip and dale area and move the shop there. looks like a decent piece of land there with backstage road access. All they have to do is theme it to another characters house. Maybe even put Goofy house there and turn it into a nicely themed store.

The existing goofy house area and the garden that is pretty much a waste of space can then be re-purposed. The land is big enough for a double spinner or better yet why not reskin the heimlich cars into single acorns with single dispatch and recreate a fun little outdoor ride. with lots of Props.

I wonder how costly it would be to build a roof over the small Toontown area. Couldn't it be built like the did the WWTBAM building? That thing is basically a temporary shell that went up in just a few months.

Imagine what they would be able to do with projections and paints inside this land

Interestingly enough that is also the area where Galaxy’s Edge intrudes on the sightlines.
