Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

Have you ever been to Disneyland? It is small with tight walkways. It is absolutely NOT suited for SWL crowds.

Methinks you’ve never visited at all. Or maybe your last visit was back in the 1900’s. Correct me if I’m wrong.
Are you always asking about "When a user ever visited WDW" to anybody who doesn't live in the west coast ?

My only problem with that is say you do get in line to meet Mickey at the barn once you get off the ride, is that the Mickey you meet is the traditional Mickey and will look nothing like the Mickey you just saw on the ride since they are using that more modern style which I can't stand at all.

They could change the Mickey face of the M&G Mickey to be like the current cartoon version. I'm kind of surprised they don't have one yet walking around anyways. However I think most kids (and adults) who lineup for the M&Gs aren't going to notice or won't even really care.

good points but I think it will matter to some kids. "mom why does mickey look different?"

Because WDWMagic is mostly geared toward WDW visitors.

And? The topic of the thread, as well as the sub-forum said thread is located in have NOTHING to do with WDW and everything to do with the DLR. There are sub-forums for a reason. Look through the rest of the threads in the Disneyland forum. News flash, 99.9% of the threads concern Disneyland, because this is the Disneyland sub-forum. Would you mosey over the Tokyo Disneyland sub-forum and post a thread about WDW dining simply because the site as a whole is WDW-focused? I mean, do I really have to spell it out?

Are you always asking about "When a user ever visited WDW" to anybody who doesn't live in the west coast ?

😑 What are you talking about?

Again, this is the DISNEYLAND SUB-FORUM. Penguin was saying things about DISNEYLAND that didn’t make sense, and I asked for clarification, clarification I never got, I’m assuming because, as I suspected, they’ve never been to the DLR (it’s fine if they haven’t, and it makes sense as to why what they were saying made no sense). Did you even read what led up to my initial response to them? Go back a page or two. I know you’re not going to respond to this, as you never respond to my responses, but this is the DISNEYLAND SUB-FORUM, where we discuss things related to DISNEYLAND. In case you forget.

@MisterPenguin Are you going to actually answer my questions? If you’ve never been, I’d be happy to explain what the park layout is like to clear up some of the things you were saying that didn’t quite make sense.

It wouldn't make sense to have the exit of the attraction lead to Mickey's house IMO. It would make sense to keep the movie theater/movie studio separate as Toon Town is split in half.... the neighborhood, and the city.

Unless the ride ends at his house but yeah I see what you re saying

Wouldn't be too hard. Have the exit covered so you don't see backstage, and have it with projection mapping of some sort. Basically showing something like you are coming back out of the screen. And then have it open into the barn studio area, where if you stay right you get into line for the M&G. And if you go left you basically go through Mickey's house in reverse and out the front door. The M&G folks would merge into Mickey's house at some point and again exit out the front door.

Would it make sense from a capacity stand point though? If one gets to meet Mickey after the ride then Mickeys house/ walk through almost becomes obsolete.

I have to admit that it sometimes gets confusing when the topic is about something that exists on both coasts. I almost always click on the what's new button and look at threads that interest me. Unless the title of the thread happens to clarify that it is talking about about a Disneyland version of something I assume it is talking about WDW(I know ASSumptions bad but this is WDWmagic). I don't ever really notice or pay attention to what sub-forum any topic belongs to. I have been following the WDW Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway thread since it was started. I have also invariably been following this Disneyland Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railroad because I started to read it thinking it was about WDW. I then saw that it was talking about Disneyland but get confused for a bit every time I start reading the MMRR thread because it takes me while to figure out which one I'm on. I know I can look up at the top of the page and follow the path but I usually jump to new threads and barely ever see the top of the page. Many threads will specifically mention WDW or DL in the title and it makes it easy to follow. But I can see how some people might post here with things that don't seem to make sense because they think they are in the WDW thread.

Wouldn't those kids be asking those questions now anyways because of the cartoon? There are always going to be some kids that question everything. But the vast majority of them won't care.

What about these questions:

"Why is Mickey taller than me, but almost the same size as Goofy, when in the cartoons he's way shorter than Goofy?"
"How come Pluto walks on two feet instead of on all fours like in the cartoons?"
"How come Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald, Goofy, don't talk?"

These type of questions have been asked for how ever long they've had walk around characters, and in the end most don't care. So they aren't going to care about the different styles. In the end its really only going to be the parent and other adults that have nostalgia toward a particular style that will care.

Hasn't it really only been in the last 5 or so years that the house has really been needed for capacity sake? I remember when it used to be almost walk-on through Mickey's house.

This rarely happens. And this wasn’t the case in this situation.

Back to the thread topic, if guests are going to be forced to meet Mickey at his house every time after the ride ends, I’m not going to be encouraged to experience the attraction.

My idea of it exiting into Mickey's house would give the choice of either M&G or just walking through Mickey's house. I don't think anyone suggested forcing guests to meet Mickey.

Sorry for my ignorance, I've been mostly away from the forums for a while now. I just saw clickbait "confirmed" that the Mickey ride is coming to Toontown. I don't have time to go back and read the whole thread, so could someone please tell me if this is true or not?

It has been confirmed by insiders, its just a matter of when its announced and when construction starts. So we don't have those exact details just yet, but yes its been green-lit.

....so nearly everything that's already been said in this thread?

I think they probably got the info about it only replacing the gag factory from here. (Otherwise why wouldn’t they have included this fact in their announcement last week?) However, It’s interesting that they re saying it’ll be announced at Destination D as @GiveMeTheMusic said it wouldn’t be announced until D23

How reliable are they anyway? I just recently started reading some of their articles when folks over here post links from time to time.
They have a controversial history on this site (as you can tell by their name being filtered) and in the past have published stories that ended up being flat out wrong which they had to issue corrections/apologies for.

And on the rarest of rare ocassions when they get something right ahead of an official announcement, they won't let you forget about it.
