I do think it starts way too early... but the alternative is them booking more nights in September/October to consolidate the event closer, reducing park hours for regular guests during those months even further.

HHN/Halloween is my favorite holiday, but anything before memorial weekend to me is just too much. Seeing pumpkins last year in Main Street mid-July is just jarring.

I think a fair solution is if Disney can figure out a way to increase capacity at the parties, while reducing the need for so many nights.
Or, hear me out ~ have fewer parties. *GASP*

If you're going as a Descendants villain, don't forget to practice jumping up on restaurant tables at which people are eating and kick their food while you lip sync your villain-anthem. That's *evil*!
My family is always assured a great view of Not-So-Spooky because

Just make MK party-only for August, September, and October. Problem solved!

People who celebrate Halloween August 9th are the same people who my HOA just had to take to court to get them to take down their Christmas lights and giant Santa inflatable that were up until mid April.

Celebrating a holiday for months really makes the holiday itself decidedly less special.

I am continually shocked that people buy these in the summer. Do you think they keep pushing these because their CEO wears sweaters and Joshie wears jeans in 95 degrees?

We've been in hot months before, but buy hoodies for ourselves to have at home in the winter.

I do agree with others though, I do not like spirit jerseys.

…for you?

I do this funny thing where I do what makes me happy and let other people do what makes them happy. As long as people keep their clothes on. This isn’t Disneyland.

What NOT to do during the party. HINT: If you want a dining reservation, make one between 4:00 and 7:00pm, preferably to end before 7pm. Otherwise, for any of these, you're wasting party time. Of course, that's why Disney schedules them. To get more of your money with less for you to do.

We usually book a sit-down around 4 pm so we can start enjoying reduced wait times at 6 pm when they start checking for wristbands.

What better way to part the rubes from their money provide more value to the guest than to offer dining and dessert reservations during a hard-ticket event?

I normally do the same. This time we will probably not make any. We are only doing two days down there this time. One day at MK and one day at Epcot. Not really short it's worth wasting time on a sit down restaurant.

Because it severely impacts all the other guests who don't shell out extra money for melted chocolate.

Does it though? Does it really? August and September crowds are already the lowest of the year. Having a night or two each week where you have to go to another park at night isn't a big ask. If you're only going down one day to experience Magic Kingdom, just go another day.

They all sell out. I doubt this is even in the mind of anyone making decisions.
