Well...since your in the army...I have to say crew cut and good posture.:D

P.S. You don't have to answer if you don't want to, but where do you live north of D.C.? I'm in D.C right now at school!

I still don't really know very many people here. I try to post more often and become more "well-known" but I guess it takes longer than 2 years  (I can't believe it's been 2 years since I first started posting on the boards). I think people probably get the "hey he's a teenager with long hair, he must be a n'erdowell" impression of me.

You didn't know that I'm female?! I thought that was so very obvious.

I only knew from a prevous thread where you mentioned some personal things with your ex. Otherwise, nothing in your avatar or username suggests it. :)

For a long time I pictured Rob as the ________ Van character he used in his avatar, but young. I just didn't realize how young he was.

I used to think Griz was like a like a thin, late twenty- or thirty-something science teacher (mostly because of his profile in education and some comments he had made); until we found out he looked a little more like Adam Sandler!

I always thought Maria looked like, well, Maria! Because she shows us her picture. Funny thing: as often as I have seen her picture in the avatar, I do not think I would know her (or most of you, like Erika) in a crowd. Isn't it funny how context is everything! You go away from the place where you see people every day, and suddenly it is hard to figure out where you have seen them before!!!!

One more: I think of Mr. Promey as a short, somewhat stout professor! :lookaroun

I think I was the first shameless one who used her picture as an avatar. I had nothing else to use! :animwink:

Funny thing, the only forum member who has seen me in person (other than Ryan), didn´t recognize me in a crowd when he saw me for the first time, and thought I was shorter! :p

Not even close! (Of course, I'm short, so everyone seems tall to me.)

1. I didn't know she was so cute
2. I didn't know she was so young
3. She doesn't look like a "Gordon Lightfoot fan"

I feel like I'm in the same position as you (except for that whole long hair thing). I have posted more than 500 times and have yet to really get to know people here!

Don't feel so bad, my friend. I have over 4500 posts (including chit chat posts)and have been here for several years now. I have yet to meet anyone personally, talked to anyone on the phone or, for the most part, corresponded with anyone other than thru PMs or on AIM, and those are very limited.
Of course, unlike you, I'm an old fart and, frankly, feel totally out of the loop in conversing with my young friends in the forum. Plus, most people probably think I'm a pervert, a very astute observation on their part.

There are some people in the forum I would love to meet to have a few laughs with, some I would like to meet and laugh at, and some I wouldn't want to meet ever. It's very difficult when you're perfect like me to accept the notion that maybe the reason I have no personal relationship with anyone in the forum is that I act like an unpredictable A-hole most of the time and that, understandbly, can be very intimidating to some people.

I would suggest you tune into the chats on AIM with some of the young people. You'd be surprised how fast you'll make friends.
If you want to talk with me about AARP, medicare or senior discounts, you can always email me at oldmantramp@braindead.com

Have fun!

Er, isn't it stated under the terms of service that all members must post a picture for MouseMadness to see what they look like? :lookaroun

If you don't want to, that's fine. I'll just stick with the picture in my head. It's good to know that I've chatted with Orlando Bloom before. :lookaroun :p

I agree. I haven't been here long and I don't really know a lot of people, but it certainly has been fun to read everyone else's comments!
