McDonalds food being removed from Restaurantosaurus?

Disney has never served McDonald's burgers in the parks so that's really a moot point. It's just about fries and nuggets and considering the nature of both of those (i.e. deep fried in oil) I can't possibly see how Disney's would be significantly better for you.

As part of a pilot program, The ESPN Zone restaurant, located at Downtown Disney in Anaheim, California, and the ABC Commissary at Disney-MGM Studios at Walt Disney World Resort, removed added trans fat from chicken tenders, French fries and frying oils - and the reviews have been good. Guest research conducted at the Downtown Disney ESPN Zone showed that 71 percent of Guests rated the taste of the fries as "excellent" or "very good."

While this is talking about the pilot program, the larger initiative was to be completed by Dec. '07.

McDonald's french fries made at Disney are fried in the same kind of oil that they fry non-Disney fries in. So it would really depend on the ingredients of the frozen fries before they're made. Disney also salts all fries the same, McDonald's or regular.

Does anyone know if Disney is going to be serving actual nuggets or chicken fingers/tenders?

All I will say is it makes me a little sad to see people in Epcot line up for McDonald's food when there is so much other amazing food to try. Although, it may just be that people think that the McDonald's stand is the American restaurant. I've just always been the type who likes to get the food that I can't get at home (not to mention I like pretty much all the other food at Epcot more than McDonald's food).

When you're dealing with a 2-5 year old "picky eater", I can understand the "need" for McDonalds at Epcot. It's the (American) adults who shout: "Oooh, there's a McDonalds" and rush over to buy their food, (and don't have "picky eater" kids) that I worry about.:lol:

Some people are willing to experiment with new foods, some aren't.

But most everyone will gravitate at some point to that which is familiar and dependable.

I don't personally care for McDonald's, but I'll never forget several decades ago, after four weeks of amazing food in Europe, we stumbled across a McDonald's in downtown Paris.

Oh my - pigged out on Big Macs, fries and milkshakes for hours.

And on the issue of sponsorships - this goes back to the very beginning. See Welch's, Coke, Borden's, Kodak, Sara Lee, etc etc.

I've been to Walt Disney World at LEAST 20 times, and I've never ever paid attention to where or what other people eat. Call me selfish, call me crazy, but I don't CARE what other people eat. I'm too busy thinking about my OWN next meal.:lol:

thank you very much for the link. It amazes me how ignorant people can be, even ones that write 2 books. I especially loved it when she said that everyone overweight has some kind of vice. generalized statements like that are rarely correct. my wifes vice was thryoid cancer. and if the lady who wrote the books knows so much about dieting, why is she overweight?

I ate at Restaurantasaurus on Tuesday, and I didn't see any McDonald's food there. I actually don't recall seeing any McDonalds food at the Animal Kingdom at all.....but that doesn't mean there wasn't a fry stand I missed somewhere.

I ate at Restaurantasaurus in Sept. '07 and we were laughing and saying that it should be called Basically McDonalds. I had a Quarter Pounder with Cheez and my DH had a Filet O'Fish. We both had fries and the line moved real slow for some reason. It felt weird eating McDonalds at WDW but we made up for it later that night with a FANTASTIC meal at Jiko!

So, do they still have burgers and fries? What are they selling now?

• I do eat at McDonald's at home occasionally and like it a lot.
• I don't eat it much anymore since I went on my diet 8 months ago...but I've lost 40 pounds!
• As long as Pecos Bills and Ray's Starlight Cafe don't go anywhere, I'm indifferent to McDonald's future at WDW and also don't ever give a thought to what other people are or should be eating in the parks.
• That video with the 4-year old burger and fries was MUCHO MALARKY! One thing I've learned since on my diet is that McDonald's food is no worse (and in some cases better) than food at restaurants like Chilli's, Uno's, The 99, TGI Fridays, Ruby Tuesdays, Applebees, Olive Garden...etc.

They have hot dogs, cheeseburgers, chicken, fries, but it's the standard Disney food you find at other counter service places.
