as I said, it’s like putting a tissue to your mouth when sneezing, it will catch some of it and is better than doing nothing. But if you keep fiddling with it and touching your face it could put you more at risk. That seems to be the general advice, a scarf or other face covering is better than nothing, but not as good as proper masks that medical professionals need.
I can't see how they help at all. The tissue has bothered me for years. You use a tissue when you sneeze or blow your nose. Handle it and then go on to touch everything like door knobs and hand rails which everyone else is going to touch. (my MIL drives me nuts. blows her nose in a tissue, stuffs it up her sleeve to use again later and then passes you food at the dinner table). To get back to the subject. People handle their mask all day. on off, on off, adjust. If you have the virus and are doing this and then handle door knobs etc. you are not helping anyone. So you can wear all you want. Claim it is better than nothing but in reality it is nothing.

If no one has noticed? Based on Survey results, 50% of WDW regulars will not go, if Masks are mandated....

I think that by doing this? WDW will have achieved their crowd reduction goal :).
Good for those regulars cause I'm a regular and I have no problem with it. Yehey for crowd reduction and yehey for significantly lower stroller and ECV scooters in the park.

Dear wife & I will not go UNTIL masking is mandated both at WDW, and on US Airlines (Canada has already mandated masking on their flights).

No, I wouldn't be going. People will wise up soon enough. A mask in the hot Florida sun and not only that but we pay $500 to take a family for it?

Just wait...Disney will figure out a way to make a mint on $24.99 make your own masks with theme park, characters etc with D-tech..I wouldn't be surprised.

so? Don’t buy one if you don’t like their business practices. As a shareholder I would love more ideas like this boost my stock back up.

I wouldn't have a problem wearing a mask at WDW, but I don't think they'll actually require them. I think they'll be permitted and perhaps encouraged, but I don't think they'll be required.

Busch Gardens would beg to differ...

No they would not with guests. Quite controlled marketing situation. Ha. But that was a great time.

Busch Gardens and Sea World could have it the easiest with social distancing. Enjoy the spacey Animal Exhibits while you wait for the outdoor attractions, coasters and stadium shows. Low crowds, people in stadium shows sit far apart.

Masks at WDW can be a challenge if one is trying to meet someone of the opposite sex. Reminds me of getting to know someone at the masquerade ball without the formal outfit.

I've already got my Orange Bird mask ready! Just let me know when opening day is. (although if it's just MK as I've heard- forget it)

I know, right?
I'm SOOOOO tired of washing my hands!

The discussion in this thread is on masks, but mask sanitation is just the tip of the iceberg.

I tend to think the amount of hand sanitizing required to be at WDW would also be problematic. If everyone was thoroughly washing their hands before every meal for the required 20+ seconds, and attempting to maintain some distance, how long would the line be for the bathroom?

I also wonder about hotel sanitation. Many things to consider there, and many opportunities to cross contaminate.

More or less, every part of WDW was designed with the idea of cramming as many people as possible into as small a space as possible.

How are you NOT washing your hands before you eat anyway? We have always washed our hands before we touch any food. Just think of all of the things that you have touched before you picked up that burger, gross. Growing up, our parents always told us to wash our hand when we come in from outside and before we eat. That should be automatic. I don't worry about the lines for the sinks since everyone is not sitting down to eat at the exact same second. We don't use sanitizers because it is easy to just rely on them and think that your hands are "clean". You might get some germs with the sanitizer but your hands are still dirty. I did not realize that other's though that washing hands was that big of a deal. I have worked on food for over 30 years and wash my hands dozens of times during the day just at work. Good hygiene is the key to keeping healthy. My kids and I have never had the flu, ear infection, strep throat. And my hubby has not had the flu since we got together and he started to wash his hands after I pointed out how gross it is not to. We also refrain from touching everything as we go by. We don't touch the hand rails or other unnecessary things.

People are just now realizing the importance of good hygiene. I'm guilty of not washing my hands sometimes but I always have a hand sanitizer with me wherever I go pre COVID-19.

Speaking of masks

The people in those chicken suits weren't specially trained stunt-actors.

I should know. I was in the second row, seat #4 from the left.

Never called it a stunt. You were a special event, not thousands of park guests all day, wearing/losing poorly secured masks. Required masks is not going to likely happen for that and many other reasons.
Again, a great event. Glad you were a part of it.
