Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts*

Are we allowed to say this movies bad on this thread? Or are only the Disney Apologists allowed to post?
Sure, but I know that there have been posts that we deleted for going off topic, mine included. We’re not all Disney apologists (I’ve been critical of some decisions, especially the additional MCU content that has been produced for Disney +) but I really want this movie to be well-received.

Sorry for veering off topic a moment but honest question for those that choose to do it, why keep engaging with the disingenuous posters? I understand the first few times, but once it is obvious?

Don't get me wrong, I get responding with a correction if someone tries to present a load of BS as fact for the benefit of future readers, but the rest?

for me it’s a reflex. When someone posts something that is obviously nonsense I often can’t help but respond. I am however fully aware that this only makes the issue worse and I am trying to work on this quirk of mine.

I know that I am guilty of this so I apologize to everyone reading this. I’ve tried to keep the thread on topic but it kept going off the rails, so I engaged with the poster. That doesn’t help anything so I am now using the blocking feature so I am not inclined to reply.

While I believe they have built a great creative team and cast for this movie, there’s a more personal reason why I’m excited for Thunderbolts*. Going back to 2013, my sister and I have spent long weekends at WDW and we would see whatever the May Marvel release was. Some of the movies were good, some weren’t the best but we always had a good time! Last year, there wasn’t a May Marvel movie, so it seemed a bit off. Then, as 2024 progressed, we had two hurricanes, we dealt with an illness in the family, and then I had a co-worker tragically pass away. With all that has happened, I am quite exhausted and looking forward to a bit of normalcy next week.

I don't think they are disingenuous and I actually enjoy his or her posts. It's good to have different opinions. Even if you don't agree with it. On the opposite of the spectrum from him/her. There's some people that seem to love everything. Maybe you should be more open minded with message board topics.

Here’s a more negative reaction to the movie:

Not a big fan of the MCU in general, but this sounds perfectly typical of the franchise to me, and as we know most of the movies have done just fine. My biggest complaint about the MCU storywise is that pretty much any time it makes an interesting choice, it will back away from that quickly in the same movie/series. This would just be more of the same -- regression to the safe zone.
