How are you guys seeing this? I went on MDE app yesterday to try to book a fastpass and it's still saying it's closed. Either way, if I have to wait in line, I don't care. I honestly couldn't care less about the issues. Going to Disney world and Not riding pirates is like going and not seeing mickey.

It was posted recently to the travel agent portal, advising travel agents on what rides, shows, and hotel experiences will be closed during their customer's trips. The dates did indeed change and it comes direct from Disney.

I'm one of those selfish people and all I care about is that the refurb is done by my November trip so that my favorite ride is not down, and also I think my daugers thing she looks forward to the most is going to the pirates league.

Same here. I was resigned to not riding it over Memorial Day week, but I am glad it looks like it may be open. I know this makes me counted among the selfish, but I couldn't give a squat what happens to it after that. I do love WDW, and I do love PotC. But I love my family, my money, and my time more. A lot more.

Well said.

I hope the ride explodes the day you people ride it. Just sayin.

Not so well said. Seriously, grow up. You still have a lot of learnin' to do boy. Wishing harm on someone because their opinion differs from yours... This post and YOU are asking to be deleted.

Fastpass+ still has it closing on May 11th.

That's what I'm seeing as well. Over at wdwinfo (updated today 4/19) is showing a June 8th closing. Maybe Disney hasn't updated MDE or they are purposely keeping it as stand by only to reduce amount of people on the ride? I don't know, just a thought.

I got my dates from The Hub (Disney's internal site). This is word-for-word the latest update as of 4/17/15:

Pirates of the Caribbean at Magic Kingdom Park will be closed for planned maintenance from June 8 through September 25 (dates subject to change). Guests will not be able to select this attraction using Disney FastPass+ service during this time.

Can confirm he's not bluffing. Came here to post this.
We are going to be in Disney in June, as Pirate's is my second favorite ride, after Haunted Mansion; I'm not sorry it's down..it really needs the maintenance...and most importantly the boat issues fixed. I'm willing to wait, so my next ride is better than my last ride.:)

Actually the biggest problem right now are the boats and possibly the pumps the move the water. I was there and rode it in February and everything was working perfectly except the boats, they need to be switch even if it is back to the old ones. I'm sure they are still lying about somewhere.

Selfishly, I was sort of happy that now it would be open during my trip. But come on, give these rides the attention they need. I've seen quite a few theme parks where they don't invest in keeping their rides in proper condition. Disney shouldn't go down that road (I've been on this forum enough to realize many already think Disney did, but it could be worse).

People who are happy that a ride will be running in poor condition will get the experience they deserve. As somebody who visits Disneyland often the condition of our version of the ride is sad in comparison. I leave it disappointed each time at the poor show condition. Animatronics barely moving, bad lighting, sub par sound, and that doesn't even include the behind the scenes things that we don't even know about. Anyone who gets to ride the ride during this extra month shouldn't be celebrating, they should be preparing for disappointment.

When it comes to the tweaks and twerks needed for PotC, I am all out of craps to give. I am delighted it will get some love over the summer -hopefully all the love it needs. As for the dodgy AAs or whatever other horrors await, I suppose I will just have to be brave and carry on knowing not every is polished nor every bell and whistle perfectly tuned. Such is life.

I consider it a bonus that I will get to have a middle of the road experience on PotC instead of walking by a "Sorry folks, we're closed" sign a dozen times during the week I am there. Those who can't bear anything but the best, I will be happy to compare notes with you because, Lord willing, I will surely be riding it after the refurbishments are done too.
