New dates are June 8 - September 25

Well, I thought it would be closed during my May trip. Looks like it's not. Maybe I'll rearrange my FP+ or just go standby.

Guess I'll get to ride the "Flume Ride of Death" on my next trip after all. :hilarious:

How are you guys seeing this? I went on MDE app yesterday to try to book a fastpass and it's still saying it's closed. Either way, if I have to wait in line, I don't care. I honestly couldn't care less about the issues. Going to Disney world and Not riding pirates is like going and not seeing mickey.

Lets all just let the ride get so broken where there is no repair so you can ride it.

Can GIFs just go away yet?

Most people only care about how refurbs affect their plans. It is selfish but WDW vacations cost a lot, so it's expected. I'm bummed anytime anything is closed when I go, but it also is necessary. But I'm still bummed. I'm also bummed when I go on rides and effects are broken.

As my join date suggests, I'm unlikely to go anywhere. For the record, I agree with you that the complaints lead to shortened refurbs. I also think it's natural to be sad when a big ride is closed when you go. It's like being sad that the White House is closed when you go to DC. You rationally know there must be a good reason for the closure, but you are still sad that it negatively impacts your trip. It's okay to be sad about something yet understand it's necessity. We had to euthanize my dog when I was younger...

Doug was asking where the information was coming from because MDE was giving conflicting information. He wasn't complaining. He said he would ride it if it was open even with its issues. It was a simple question that required no sass. If you did not have the answer keep your childish GIFs to yourself.

Thank you!!!! You are absolutely right! Just a simple question. To clear the air,I'm not complaining, not in the least. Of course I (just like anyone) will be bummed if it's closed but it won't ruin my vacation. One of the best trips I had to wdw was a couple years ago when big thunder was down. I just wanted to know if pirates is closing later or not so I can plan accordingly. We all know that with a Disney trip nowadays, everything needs to be pre-planned through MDE

The reason for the sass is, I am sick and tired of people complaining when attractions go down for maintenance... It's a large reason a lot of attractions throughout WDW are in crap condition at the moment.

So you're insinuating that TDO listened to people and stopped doing maintenance because people wanted the rides up all year round? So it wasn't budget cuts and profit margin that ruled decisions, it was listening to the guests? Anyone else buying that?

How is pirates going to kill someone? people are being a little dramatic. Yes space thunder etc it can happen.

A former POTC CM said probably 20 pages back that there was a very dangerous safety issue at unload that they have witnessed first hand.

But they said even though the issue poses physical harm to guests they cannot legally report it or they will be sued by TWDC.

As others said, back in the thread people discussed derailment at unload, which could give the riders ahead of the boat a nasty head/neck injury. Bear in mind that there's water involved, so something like a guest getting stuck can get worse very quickly.

Ok but here are the facts a cast member posted this fear or concern and did not report it then hey will be liable as well! If an employee knows of a safety issue and does not correct it a good attorney is going to sue them as well. And up the food chain.

I because the floor is wet does not make a ride unsafe. Man people are getting so ridiculous! And lawsuits are out of control.

This is why health care is high, liability insurance is crazy etc.

It is silly. Disney if they know of an issue that has to be fixed will fix it. Yes mistakes happen but they will not hide an issue to save a few bucks. If you think that you are all crazy!

You'd be surprised.
