I've heard that we're all going to be pleasantly surprised with the quality of the refurb.....so I'm really looking forward to seeing it in October.

DL now has at least five bateaux 2.0 cycling in the attraction. They squeak horribly, shudder when they sail over propulsion jets, and look plasticky. One positive (?): Very smooth on the load belt. Though from what we've heard of WDW's fleet, that could mean they'll slide right off.

I'd settle for Davy Jones back. Blackbeard makes no sense as he has no magical abilities and no way to project his face into a waterfall.

Looked yesterday for any signs of life, didn't see much. My last day in the World is Wednesday or Thursday, will probably have to see it next trip!

Something, sometimes multiple somethings, is/are always closed for refurb during our yearly trips.
Never before has an attraction been so missed, as was PotC this year - not even the year both HM and Spaceship Earth were closed!

While Pirates is my third favourite ride (behind ToT and Soarin'), it's the one I ride the most. I really, really, really missed it.

Can't wait to see it post-refurb though; especially if they give it the Splash Mountain treatment.

That's fine by me. Like JenniferS said, there is always something on refurb. At least its getting TLC.

If I remember correctly, Blackbeard was able to magically control his ship's sails and such somehow. I can't say I remember him projecting his face anywhere though.

That was because of his sword. Barbossa did the same thing when he got it.

That was a spoiler for me, too, and I watched the movie, paying extra for 3D no less. I don't remember anything about that movie except being mad that I allowed myself to be sucked into watching a fourth one after the second and third ones.
