So, any update from the insiders on when this will be completed. I am guessing no chance this opens on the 20th, the last day of my WDW trip..

It is not.

It is unclear if the issue has been resolved. Something Only a new fleet will fully fix.
Well, if it's not the boat design and nothing has changed but the boats, do you have any thoughts on what might be causing it. Because if the solution is to replace the fleet, doesn't that point to a boat design problem, no matter what that design flaw might be?

I do. Not that I can discuss it in public.

Measures will be taken after the refurb to mitigate the problem. Right now it seems the fleet has not been replaced.

I don't understand what this would mean. Changes to water levels? Changes to loading procedures? Increase the free clothing giveaway budget for those who get drenched?

Whatever mitigation they have planned, if it works, why would they ever replace the boats?

I have no inside information, so I'm free to speculate...

Folks are confused by the fact that it's "a boat" and always expect it to act like a boat. That's not quite true.

When it is going down the drop, it is more like a coaster and runs on wheels. The angle at which it hits the pool below is likely controlled by the height set by the coaster wheels. Some adjustments or changes to the wheels can change the angle of impact and the amount of backsplash. My guess is this is the change they will make.
