I was there for Not-so-scary last night. Pirates was down the first time we walked past it- around 5 or so, but was working when we tried again at 11. After reading all the comments on this site, I was very cautious of getting wet, so while we were the first in line to start loading a new boat, I asked the cast member at load if we could go to row 4 instead. He agreed, and asked us if it was because we didn't fancy getting wet. All the same, we had bagged up our electronics in zip-locs we had brought. I didn't notice the floor or gunwales being particularly wet on our boat. The boat was loaded quite full, and before we departed the CM knelt down in front of rows 1 and 2 and made sure that the kids there knew that they might get wet and that they had to remain seated even if they did.

As it happened, it didn't seem like anyone got that wet on the drop. I couldn't really see up there, but I didn't hear anyone in the bow screaming or complaining once we touched down. The ride itself seemed quite good, though there was a glaring audio issue- at the auction scene, on the bridge your boat passes over, the rightmost of the two pirates, the one who heckles, "Be she stouter by the pound?!" was having audio problems. Whenever it was that figure's time to speak, all that could be heard was a buzzing static noise. It created an odd effect, because there are a couple times in that cycle where that character is the only one speaking.

The line is actually "Are you sellin' her by the pound?!", which doesn't surprise me that you thought it was something else because of how poor the audio used to be. ;)

I guess I was expecting more from this rehab. I'm a very observant person and I frequent MK quite often. They only thing I noticed were some new static set pieces at the end and a few lights added here and there. The drop seemed exactly the same to me and it was reported that it had been smoothed over.

All of the figures were removed and upgraded. Many received new compliance, and all are moving in ways they haven't in some time. Some were reskinned completely. All received newly refreshed wardrobe. The audio was significantly upgraded, as was the lighting. The attraction was cleaned from top to bottom and a few new set pieces were added. Updates were made backstage to the ride controls and system. Effects that have been diminished or broken for years were fixed. In short, it did exactly what a refurb is meant to do. Not sure what else you were expecting? Nobody said they were adding anything to the ride.

Out of curiosity, when were the boats replaced? I went in March and rode in the front several times and don't remember getting any more wet than a few drops...

I definitely noticed some more movement in some of the AA's particularly the auctioneer (except it seemed odd his mouth not moving to me when talking maybe it wasn't working as it should I don't know but he did have way more movement than before)

Yeah we are all gonna feel like the pirate getting lowered down the well
plot twist.. they are making us repeat the famous entrance of Captain Jack Sparrow on the town in the first movie as his boat sinks.

It was posted that the ride drop had been smoothed out. It wasn't.

And all broken effects being fixed happened last time and they broke within 2 months again anyway. Night shift is supposed to be fixing these items but they never get done.

Now waiting for all of the effects in Dinosaur that broke 7 or 8 years ago to be fixed.
