less things to do is still less things to do.

Can not disagree with that, but hopefully it was for the purpose we all think is coming.

And not just to sit empty for three years before construction begins. Guess we will have to wait and see what happens... I would love to be fooled and they have been working with out anyone knowing cleaning out the building etc and getting them ready for the next phase but I doubt it.

Indeed. And Disney-collected data does show that guests are spending less time in DHS than in the past. Not surprising if there is nothing to do. We are only going there this trip because of Star Wars Weekends. We went for 10 days in January and could not spend more than 2 hours at a time in DHS.

I must say, thank goodness Disney spent all that money on the Magic Band system so that we would be able to accurately know that. Really, how else would we have been able to determine that eliminating roughly 1/3 of the attractions at DHS would result in people spending less time at said park?

That MM+ is just paying dividends with insights like that!

Someone give Bob a raise. Someone give both Bobs a raise. And a beer named after them in the Fantasyland expansion.

That's the key word, hopefully. It really shouldn't have to come to that. When something is closed is it too much to ask that the replacement is at least already announced or maybe some kind of destruction/construction begins not too far off? Compare this to when Universal closed Jaws and destruction began pretty much immediately followed shortly by the construction of Diagon Alley and then the opening a little over 2 years later. To me it seems that Disney knows DHS has problems but they are in no rush to fix them at all and feel like they can take their sweet time for as long as they can.

Look at Kong, building is already up, and then they announced it!

....other parks are going to help MK. Yeah, this makes no sense.

See California Adventure and its 2.0 overlay and the impact it had on DL's daily traffic patterns.

Give people a reason to not stand in the Hub each night watching Wishes or a color changing castle. That will prevent the need for mass exodus and the bottleneck on Main Street. Keeping the other parks open longer and giving people reasons to stay all day are the only way to help MK.

The solution to MK's issues can't be found internally unless you want to continue to slice more and more space out of the equation to either cram more people in or bypass people out.

The only solution is to give them a reason to not all be there to begin with. They have 3 other parks. Fill them and then you can get back to the business of upping MK's gate. Adding more reasons to be inside the MK only compounds its problems and the overall problems plaguing the rest of the parks.

NFL made things worse. Not better.

The real issue is that TDO doesn't care because a gate spinning somewhere is still money in their pocket. Who cares of if quality suffers (refurbs cut short or underfunded, Hub refurbs that have taken more than a year, and yes... the evil light towers).

Pandora, Star Wars Land, Pixar, Frozen will help... but, much more is needed. A Universal effort is required with years of things in the queue for the other 3 parks before the problems with MK will be eased.

I see what you did there.

My puns have no limits. Much like Universal's ambitions... or WDW's decades ago.

The beauty of trees is they can be easily replaced if Disney can ever spread the crowds out. The downfall of trees is they can be easily replaced so it isn't a huge money commitment to tear them out on a whim.

The concern isn't if the trees can be replaced or not.. it's that the people doing the design don't see a need for them and what that means about their mindset towards the park's design.

you know, Every time I read these type of jokes.. I suddenly start thinking.

What if low and middle management are just constantly making a gigantic tangle mess of lies and skewed reports that they send upwards. Because they want to look nice for bonuses or get promoted.

They claim this:

"We are AWESOMe, GETTING TONS OF MONEY!" by cutting everything.. all While the guest happiness and expending goes down.
Then they give the upper management a report where they lie how awesome everything is.

so upper management does nothing.. and the parks go to crap.

Now with the MagicBand system.. they finally have proven facts and stadistics of what the #$^# is wrong with the parks...
They are finally REACTING.

Someone give Bob a raise. Someone give both Bobs a raise. And a beer named after them in the Fantasyland expansion.
he already got a few millions by capitalizing part of his stock.
