I wanted to be able to walk in it.The fountain is inside of a planter area with a railing around it. You can walk around it, but not right on top of it.
The trees are still quite a bit bigger in Disneyland.Although it would be nice to have retractable parade lighting, I really don't think it's necessary in the hub. Disneyland's hub lights have been visible for years and nobody complains about them (and DLR's APers love to complain about everything). But when you're not looking at photos of them, they blend into the background and go unnoticed. Most people strolling through MK's hub won't be looking at the parade light towers, but at the castle, nearby buildings, and the new brown walkway lights
The light towers in DL also stick up above the trees, since they also have small trees in their hub; they just look bigger compared to the park's scale
Even when they're in the frame with the castle, the lights are easy to overlook
Even along Matterhorn Way, the lighting rigs are visible all day (just to the left of the last flag)
And if you want parade lights that are actually large and obtrusive, you still need to look no further than DL, where these structures are large enough to have their own refurbishment towers built around them
The retractable lights on the roofs of Main Street are great (though the changes to the tops of the buildings leaves something to be desired) but the rest of the parade route has very visible lighting. It seems like some people here think that only WDW makes these sorts of decisions, but it's really standard practice (TDL doesn't have parade route lights, since they only run Dreamlights after dark)

Look closer. The walls are all seating like what they added in New Fantasyland and Pinocchios. All of this looks great except there's no excuse for the lack of benches. They've added all of these super wide open walkways and areas, they can fit a bench or two in there.
Add in a breeze blowing it off course and this would be wonderful on a hot day in the MK hub.I heard the fountains shoot up like in the World of Color viewing area fountains
Someone had better point out the cancer risk of rolling around on that stuff.Don't know if anyone has pointed this out since I was in class but part of it is open to the public:

That would make my life. Thanks for the tip!I'd expect the project to have been finished before the first Halloween party.

I'm sorry about that too, but sometimes people act before thinking, I done that many times recently. Now for my joke of the day, (not to offend or lose the seriousness of this issue), but some days I think my brain left me along time ago.I totally agree but we must step back and assess the reason for lack of benches. Lawsuits and guests leaving their brains at home.
There are a ton of guests who think they can one up everyone else and stand on these benches to get a better view of the fireworks and/or parade. There's also plenty of (caring, thoughtful, selfless) parents who think it's a great idea to let their child/children stand on these benches because their little ones can't see over everyone else.
Brainless children/parents/guests + benches = trip/fall hazard and injury
tl;dr people can't have nice things and Disney has to baby us to cover their butts
I forgot, see I'm proving my point...I couldn't stand on a bench, if my life depended on it!I'm sorry about that too, but sometimes people act before thinking, I done that many times recently.
