Main Street U.S.A. hub redevelopment at the Magic Kingdom

Does anyone else have a problem with people laying on the grass and also eating on the grass.

Absolutely not. It's not real grass. They can vacuum it/wash it as necessary. A place to sit around and just enjoy downtime is something that's seriously missing from a lot of US theme parks. Giving the hub an actual "park" may be my favorite add-on to WDW in the last 10 years.

Selfishly, it gives me one more place to stuff a bbq slaw dog down my throat when the outdoor tables are full

Exactly...It should be open at all times to serve the purpose of relieving congestion.
The FP+ section actually is landlocked. There is no additional entrances or exits into the hub from it. It's essentially a corner. Also - this is only about 1/4th of the opened area. @PhotoDave219 - take a walk in it, it's actually pretty small so I don't really see it as a huge disruption to the grand scheme of firework viewing.

I wonder if people know that their family vacation photos are being posted on a discussion forum, and instead of commenting on the people and their vacation, we're commenting on the shrubs in the background.

(I'm glad we're not commenting on the people, by the way. That could get nasty.)
On the internet, that's getting of very easy

I interpreted the leaked drawings incorrectly because I swear I saw gates all around the FP+ viewing areas which led me to believe they would be locked off during the day. Maybe the gates are still to go in, but they may leave them open until a set time before shows.

I still find it curious that they opened this area to full foot traffic when it's clear there are railings (besides the ones I'm talking about) and other details to still finish.
