Main Street Bakery to Serve Starbucks Coffee

Why are people complaining about these cinnamon rolls when they are also offered in New Fantasyland?
Because it might be nice to have your cinnamon bun WITH your coffee - rather than standing in a 20 minute line to get your coffee, and then hoofing it 20 minutes across the park (carrying said hot coffee) just to get in another line.

What is Disney World if not waiting in line? You wait in line to get your tickets, wait in line to get in, wait in line to order food so you can wait in line to pick up said food and then wait in line for everything else.

Put another way--people's need for "convenience" is the reason all of the gift shops carry the same items, meet and greets increasingly show one of about a dozen characters, and every "snack" eatery now has hot dogs and popcorn.

Perhaps we could consider having a several hundred calorie drink in the morning and not also needing to engorge on a 1000-calorie cinnamon roll at the same time? Maybe this is Disney's effort to help people be more healthy by creating a bit of a hurdle so we don't reach 1500 calories by 10 am and even if we do, there was some walking inbetween.

The only reason I even come to this thread anymore is for the comedy of the discussion.
No, you come here to post that posting in this thread is silly. ;)

Me, I'm going to run the Disney marathon and for 42 km tell the other participants that running a Disney marathon is a waste of time. Then I'm off for a week long Disney Cruise, just for the comedy of seeing people stuck on a boat for a week long Disney Cruise.

@The Empress Lilly simply seems inclined to discuss the cons of the intrusion whereas several seem inclined to discuss the pros. Since this is a discussion forum, I'm sure the discussion will end once one side or the other grows tired of the issue. At this point, one side is never going to convince the other side, only the die-hards on both sides are left.
Me, I'm just a bot that TEL programmed six weeks ago. :)

I am programmed to respond to key words from posts, then search for similar key words in posts from earlier in this thread, take a bunch of word strings from several of those, and copy-paste those in a new combination in a reply.

OK, now it's archaeologists who travel the world and have an affinity for classical Greece. Hence, the sirens. Let's see... turn of the century... archaeologist... Henry Jones, Sr. is the owner of the new Starbucks! Sean Connery himself! CONFIRMED! You heard it here first!
Bingo! This whole operation has been a scam. The new Starbucks is just a front that leads to the Indy clone they secretly build in the executive parking lot behind MS!

Plenty objected to the invasion of Starbuck's onto MSUSA but most of those discussions petered out about 30 pages ago.;)

Based on what I've read, people really do seem to have a passion for the cinnamon buns. It seems they've entered the realm of "Mickey Ice Cream Bar" or "Dole Whip" territory. Imagine the outrage if Disney moved the Dole Whip location to Gaston's Tavern!
I would have to argue that point. I've been enjoying Mickey Bars and Dole Whip Floats for many years. Been to WDW 42 times in 30 years and, honestly, the first time I knew that they even sold Cinnamon buns anywhere on site including the Bakery was when this thread started. They have a ways to go to reach that level. Another thought crosses my mind as well. Is it possible that everyone that "must have one" is posting on this thread? I ask that because if there is one thing we know for sure about Disney is that once they have lashed onto a cash cow they don't let go. If they sold all that well, they would still be there, of that I am sure.

Yeah, comparing the rolls to Mickey Bars and Dole Whips is reaching at best. It's not nearly the iconic unmissable food item some in this post would make it seem, no matter how much they want it to be.

Quoting you because it was the most recent, not because I have an ax to grind or anything.

I have never had a Dole Whip or a Mickey Bar, but I have had dozens of cinnamon buns. And for my wife and I, it was a tradition. First morning at the MK of every trip we would stop into the MS Bakery and split a cinnamon bun. Circumstantial evidence leads me to believe MANY "guests" had the same type of experience.

I dunno if anyone missed @emich88 post about food items. But apparently, NO, MS Bakery items will be available before 11a. So it's not a case of Disney dropping the cinn bun on its own, but dropping everything in favor of Starbuck's pastries(full disclosure, they suck).

I love it, cruising ironically.

Not having them doesn't mean you can't see the insane fandom behind them. There's full blown merchandise featuring Dole Whips and Mickey Bars, their following far exceeds the people posting on Disney boards.

You can't say that about the rolls, it's nice that you like them and built a tradition around it but let's not act like they're as iconic as a turkey leg.

I think its safe to say as far as I'm concerned, the next time I want coffee at MK I should be happy because MS Bakery coffee was

I've been in that parking lot many times

Join me, together we can rule the galaxy.
I can say the Emporium owner has nothing to do with this... staying in character, I will say that the proprietor is a new resident to Main Street U.S.A... Him and his wife purchased the old bakery and remodelled it after something that reflects their passion, and past life... that is all I will say. (Think where the Strabucks name/ logo came from)

When listening/ reading the story, you have to imagine Starbucks is not some big company. You have to put yourself within this time period.

We are hoping the storylines to the other three Starbucks branch off of ours at MK

So they are Battlestar Galactica fans then?
