Main Street Bakery to Serve Starbucks Coffee

One Little Spark...
The Bakery also carried chocolate cake that people liked... Now we we offer a triple chocolate cupcake (Disney item that comes out at 11am) So some items have a similar replacement

Man, now I'm hungry! I suspect that would be tasty with a strong black coffee.

We will be brewing three different coffees! Pikes Place, a dark roast, and a blonde roast... if we aren't brewing your favorite that day, you can ask the cashier to do a pour over coffee for the coffee you like.... Unless you don't care what kind of coffee you drink lol :p

I'm fine with Pikes Place...though I'd rather it in a French Press...

In regards to cinnamon rolls, I just don't understand why they would take them out...yes they're at Gaston's but they were of a much higher quality at the Bakery. I just told my parents today and they were pretty upset. Any chance if enough people complain they'll be brought back?

The poor CMs working there may have to bare the brunt of complaints about menu changes possibly, which in my opinion any complaints should be directed to guest services.

I'll miss a few items from the bakery but what can you do?

In the past I've had some good items at Starbucks but the only thing I care about and will care about when I visit, is that my coffee is fresh and the drink I order is good. Since this won't be a drive thru experience I won't get down the road and realize my coffee isn't sweet enough.

Other than that I think people will have to get use to the fact that MSB items will be gone or dispersed to other venues in the park.

I know the ice cream sandwich is now on the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor menu. My son has ordered this several times in recent visits, which in time past, he ordered other things because this was not on the menu, and he's never ordered the ice cream sandwich at MSB rather a croissant, or bun or something else. So maybe that particular item will get exposure new exposure.

In any event I'm looking forward to the new experience and the CMs won't get complaint from me as long as they make my drink good :D

We will be doing pretty much everything a normal Starbucks does. Including shaken teas, iced coffee, french press, and so on. Again, we can make any drink you want (that is in season). We will carry all of the seasonal drinks. The only thing that is slightly different is the sandwiches and pastries.

I've heard the same complaint from others about the reduction in quality of the rolls. That's ashamed. I think keeping the same quality would have buffered some of the issues over the change.

I can think of a few reasons the cinnamon rolls are gone from the Main Street Starbucks:
  • There was insufficient space for the equipment in the new Starbuck's configuration.
  • The equipment used was old and expensive to replace. (Perhaps newer equipment was used at Gaston's, which might explain the reported different taste.)
  • Disney did not want to sell rolls at two MK locations.
  • The licensing agreement with Starbuck's didn't allow for "morning pastry" competition. It's my understanding that other Disney baked good are available only later in the day.
  • The person making the decision was unaware of the "Main Street Bakery cinnamon roll" tradition and didn't even consider this option.
Whatever the reason, I really don't understand Disney. I'm no fan of the cinnamon rolls but, overwhelmingly, WDW guests wanted them back. This appears to be a case of Disney not listening to its customers.

Can I just mention, honestly, that I've been going to Disney for my entire life, and had no idea the the Main Street Bakery even sold cinnamon rolls until everyone started losing their mind about the potential loss of them?
I know on here I'm the exception, not the rule, but how many more folks like me do you think are out there in the WDW-going public?

sacrilege. :D just kidding
To be honest, I take more of an exception to the monorail spiel they changed with a new voice, but I understand the necessity.

Also, outside the approach to the Haunted Mansion the strong smell of flowers use to be present which I thought was a piped in smell and its gone now. I was told this was because of the newly added Rapunzel restrooms and the roses taken out. I guess the roses weren't seasonal because I can't remember a time when didn't smell the smell.

But oh well, the smell is gone and in exchange a place to poop, not me though, and of course the HM has the interactive que.

Well, I just learned of a greater horror than the Starbuck/Mainstreet Bakery/Cinnamon Roll....blah blah
I'm sitting here watching History Channel, of all things, when a commercial for one of their, History Channel's, upcoming specials, and the secrets of why corn flakes were invented. Oh the horror.

No, I stated a few pages back the I had been going to WDW for 30 years and I found out about it the same way you did. I don't think they are as great as many people have made them out to be. Just an opinion.

#6 Price increase?

Two years ago, the cinnamon roll was $2.39 at the Bakery. Now, at the Gaston's up north near the Georgia border, they are $3.99.
They are slightly bigger though, but less tasty - which, come to think of it, can be said to be the trend of all of WDW's food in the past two decades or so.

You are not supossed to get a two dollar coffee with a two dollar snack anymore. No, Disney wants you to part with seven dollars for a coffee with a four dollar snack. There are more subtle ways to achieve a doubling of coffee break revenue than outright price increases.

Pretty much everything at WDW has a following, one way or another.

I've never eaten a MSUSA Cinnamon Roll, think the Turkey Legs taste horrible, consider the Dole Whip to be a waste of ice cream, and believe anyone who buys a Mickey Ice Cream Bar is getting totally ripped off.

Still, I'm sensitive enough not to insult people who like those dumb things.;)

I'm gonna take a lot of pictures when I go to Starbucks. I wonder if the Starbucks woman will be there, a new princess, to get your picture taken as you leave with your cup of coffee. Now there's a marketing idea they might steal from me. Imagine that for promoting Starbucks, the Magic Kingdom and the new princess with all those photos.

I don't eat those rolls either. Nor do the hipster Disney Starbucks princesses!
