Main Street Bakery to Serve Starbucks Coffee

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
What is Disney World if not waiting in line? You wait in line to get your tickets, wait in line to get in, wait in line to order food so you can wait in line to pick up said food and then wait in line for everything else.

Put another way--people's need for "convenience" is the reason all of the gift shops carry the same items, meet and greets increasingly show one of about a dozen characters, and every "snack" eatery now has hot dogs and popcorn.

Perhaps we could consider having a several hundred calorie drink in the morning and not also needing to engorge on a 1000-calorie cinnamon roll at the same time? Maybe this is Disney's effort to help people be more healthy by creating a bit of a hurdle so we don't reach 1500 calories by 10 am and even if we do, there was some walking inbetween.
My point was that some people (perhaps, most) would like their coffee WITH their cinnamon roll, rather than battling crowds and lines at two separate venues, at separate ends of the park.
The calorie aspect is another issue altogether. That being said, two coffees with a splash of cream and one cinnamon roll split between two adults (who will be on their feet, sweating, standing and walking all day) is not an unreasonable breakfast while on holiday.

No, you come here to post that posting in this thread is silly. ;)

Me, I'm going to run the Disney marathon and for 42 km tell the other participants that running a Disney marathon is a waste of time. Then I'm off for a week long Disney Cruise, just for the comedy of seeing people stuck on a boat for a week long Disney Cruise.

While I appreciate the attempt, there are holes in your argument. You act like i dont like Disney. i wouldnt be on this board if that was true. Add on the ludicrous comparison of a runDisney event or a Disney Cruise (hundreds or thousands of dollars to do) to a theme park forum. This is something I can do for free. I click around the site. Just so happens every time I click in here I find some sort of ridiculous discussion happening. It makes me laugh, which means I found it comedic.

Pressumably, the cinnamon rolls will be replaced with other sweets. I just hope it isn't the extremely processed crap Starbucks sells in their bakery case. More problematic to me than adding Starbucks coffee would be removing the bakery from the Main Street Bakery (i.e. making it so that the bakery doesn't actually bake anything).

I’ll write the most sacrilegious thing possible.

Mickey Ice Cream Bars, Dole Whips, and Turkey Legs aren’t that good.

I’m no cinnamon bun aficionado but they taste better!

Now if them ain’t fighting words, I don’t know what is.:p

I thought the cinnamon bun was good...had one for the first time ever last year (have only been visiting WDW since 1979), but I won't be heartbroken to have to walk to Gaston's to get the replacement. Generally have a Mickey Ice Cream bar once each trip, twice if it's really warm! Dole Whip...tried it last year too, maybe I just didn't get one on a good day...might try one more on our next trip, and try again to figure out what all the excitement is. Turkey legs...nope, haven't tried 'em, and guessing they might contain a half year's worth of salt, so probably never will.

Now, I will say that there are plenty of things I do like there...but, without question, my very favorite thing I've had during our last trip, was simply an ice cream that I got to enjoy with my wife and 6 year old DD, sitting and enjoying the view of Cinderella's Castle. :)

Ok, here is the info we have at the moment....

Starbucks pastries/ treats will be sold up until 11am. At 11am, there will be both Disney and SB pastries/ treats. Personally, the experience itself is not something you will get at your normal starbucks.

IDK why they got rid of the cinnamon rolls, but they won't be coming back.. In it's place we will have cinnamon swirl coffee cake.

So, there you go, Starbucks crap. And here is a link to the Cinnamon Roll replacement....

Thanks for the update. As far as the replacement - They lost me at "reduced fat".

I know the cinnamon bun wasn't the best cinnamon bun in the world and they're readily available in malls and grocery stores, but there was something about sitting on MSUSA digging into one of those giant gooey swirls of cinnamon goodness.

I know it ain't as popular as the Turkey Leg (gag) or Premium Bar, but it sucks that they're not available at the Starbucks Main Street Bakery (or whatever it's called) anymore. seems stupid to get rid of them at that location for no real good reason.

So is there a different contract between DLR and Starbucks and WDW and Starbucks because they seem to have some different policies. Or is it just WDW and DLR with their own rules.

Yeah, what Shookie said. Double.
That cinnamon swirl coffee cake really doesn't appear to be in the same league as our MIA ooey gooey cinnamon rolls.
On the plus side, there is less reason to linger on beautiful MSUSA. I can head straight to the rides.

exactly. There are plenty of 'good for you' things I eat all the time. When I'm eating something like a gooey cinnamon baked treat, leave the "good for me" the he!! out of it!!!!!

Well you know what they say...the thin and beautiful shall rule the world. Of course, in this case, the THEY are the thin and beautiful. Fat and ugly need not apply or even have an opinion.

OK, now it's archaeologists who travel the world and have an affinity for classical Greece. Hence, the sirens. Let's see... turn of the century... archaeologist... Henry Jones, Sr. is the owner of the new Starbucks! Sean Connery himself! CONFIRMED! You heard it here first!

Will there be an Indy meet and greet? (the dog, not the man)

Or when they update Carousel of Progress they can include a Starbucks or at least a Starbucks coffee cup in the updated last scene depicting Winter.

This wouldn't surprise me. Not that it would matter to me...no different than showcasing the latest kitchen equipment and electronics in the final scene, as that show has always had as part of it's "mission"...
