Main Street Bakery to Serve Starbucks Coffee

This "staple" can still be purchased. And it's since been established that nothing except the application of frosting has changed. So no, it's not comparable to removing Dole Whips. Not to mention we already had this discussion, the rolls aren't nearly as popular as some of you would like us to think.

Why? Because you don't like them?

And that hasn't been established. They are different. They're smaller, not as fresh, and not prepared the same.

I don't even like cinnamon buns! Lol sorry I just don't. I'm sorry you lost your food staple but it is what it is. Lol I'm still going to give Disney my money several times a year because while changes can be sad/annoying/frustrating/insert your own adjective here, we do get over it *shrug*

Edit: For the record I was so upset when I saw Pop removed the chicken penne Alfredo which I ate at least twice on my trips there. In fact the menu there sucks now IMO that just motivated us to move away from Pop and do moderate from now on. We've outgrown it lol

I don't think anyone said they wouldn't get over it. Obviously, we all will. We'll all get over the Yeti working too.

I swear, some people forget they're on a message board to discuss all things Disney, significant to you or not.

That is true, but, it is probably because it would affect a lot more people then the CB's did. It has been established that a lot of us long time regulars never even knew they sold them. It was hardly a situation were absolute hordes of people were sitting around all year craving a Cinnamon Bun from Disney's MS Bakery.

LOL - How do you know that?

I think the craze over dole whips is insane, especially since you can get them at the Polynesian too. But who a I to judge someone based on their personal tastes?

I think the reason people don't get the harping about losing the rolls is because they aren't unique items, at all. If Dole Whips were to go (completely, including from the Poly), the complaints would be more legitimate because where else can you get soft serve pineapple ice cream? Never seen it anywhere else (although I'm sure someone will chime in saying their local ice cream shop has it).

Point taken sir. But I'm on the side of the "discussion" that is ok with the changes. I think we're allowed to discuss just as much as you are complaining. And believe me as much as I love Disney nothing will ever be significant enough to warrant all this.

You guys can harp on this all you want. It's rather entertaining anyway, which is what this message board is all about: entertainment.

They were unique. I've never had another cinnamon roll like that before.

Soft serve pineapple ice cream is actually quite common in New England. Of course, soft serve ice cream is practically the backbone of it's economy.

@captainkidd was not comparing it to Dole Whips being removed. Someone said it was "insane" to be upset about it. I think he was just comparing that people would be upset if dole whips were changed/removed and its not "insane" to be upset about it. just because cinnamon rolls arent as popular as dole whips it makes little difference to it being insane or that people shouldnt have feelings about it.

This exactly. Who cares how popular or unpopular they are? If it's liked by someone, of course they're going to be upset about it. I won't touch turkey legs, but I'm not going to criticize someone if they're upset if Disney takes them away.

I wouldnt consider a cinnamon roll a staple food item.

However, it was not taken away. Just moved elsewhere.

Opinion, and many would argue with you. It's been served at the Main Street Bakery as long as I've been going to WDW.

They were not moved. The one's at Gaston's are not the same. Not saying I'm proud of it (cuz I sure as hell ain't), but I've had more of those Main Street Bakery cinnamon rolls over the years than I can possibly remember. The fact that my arteries aren't clogged is a miracle to me. I assure you - They are NOT the same. Disney can say whatever they want. Anyone who is a fan of them who has had them at both locations will tell you, they are not the same. Whether they're a different recipe, different frosting, or just prepared differently, I couldn't tell you. I'm not a chef. But they are definitely different, and nowhere near as good.

Whatever. Obviously, the people that know they aren't the same aren't going to convince those who don't know, and those who don't know, don't care enough. Pointless to go on about it.

No one is doubting that you and others have a strong desire to have a CB. Fine, but to say that they were even as close to known or popular as Dole Whip...well that does not compute. My only argument is that you said they lied, I don't think they did. As you say everyone has there own tastes and wants. Some we share with others some we have as our own, but they have taken them out and except for a few people no one is complaining at all. Fact of life.

I have a question though, I lived in New England (Vermont) for 63 years and traveled all of New England over the years. I don't know what part of New England you are referring too, but, I never heard of them anyplace other then Disney. Course I have to admit that Vermont might have been a little behind in trends, we always were.:)

I never said they were as popular as Dole Whips. I just said why should it matter?

Do you realize the percentage of people on this board compared to the people that visit WDW? I'd bet good money it's less than 1%. How does anyone know what those people think?

As for the pineapple ice cream, there's 3 spots right around Worcester that I know of that has it. Plus a couple places near where I work. Honestly, I never thought it was that unusual.

Think for yourselfer
Yes. We've had a definitive answer Since Saturday. They are baked in the exact same location they used to be picked. Neither rolls Are actually baked in the location they are served. It was explained by one of the cast members posting in this thread that the only difference is how the icing is applied.

Again if you feel strongly alma mater, please write just relations at the address provided in this thread before.

I went through all the posts from Saturday and Sunday and couldn't find any posts related to origin point. Can you link to said post?

I don't feel that strongly about "just" the buns though, I'm sour on the whole thing. But if I'm starting a letter writing campaign I think there are bigger fish to fry.

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
And for the record...we are not just upset about the CB! We that are upset are upset about many things they took away from the bakery that has been there since the park opening!! YES NOT MOVED AS THE OTHER CB IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT..TAKEN AWAY! It was a tradition to most families or individuals to visit the bakery at least once a trip and enjoy their favorite items whether it the CB, coffee cake, cheese Danish, etc etc, and maybe have a seat at a table Inside as well! Stop judging us that are upset at this that this long standing tradition is now gone for many people on Main St at that! They have taken enough things Away from there already. And yes more than just one of us wrote Disney about this issue in the beginning and were told ALL the FAVORITES would still be offered just with the Addition of some Starbucks items!! Wish someone could find one of those emails to finally get some of you to back off in saying we are wrong to feel the way we do!! That's all I have to say for now. :)

You're entitled to your opinion, just as those who don't see any issue with the changes are. I can certainly understand people being frustrated at the changes, especially if you have a specific tradition or affinity to the bakery as it was. I for one am not saying you are wrong for feeling the way you do.

I just haven't seen any evidence that Disney lied, which is a claim that has been made. Again, "all of the favorites" is somewhat subjective. Favorites according to who and to what standards? It's possible that Disney views favorites based on top selling items. Perhaps those are the items are the ones that made the cut and are being offered. I don't have access to that information - and I'm guessing no one who does is going to share it with us. Did anyone ask in their emails specifically if the cinnamon bun, as it was at the time would be returning to the bakery, and receive a response that it was?

They never stated ALL the favorites would be returning, ever. Does someone have a menu from 1971 for reference? This post has made me curious how many "favorites" were actually served then and "taken away" now.

I never got the chance to have a CB before the switch to Starbucks so its not an issue for me but as a Disney fan I never like to see another Disney fan loose something special to them. I'm sure everyone on these boards has a tiny insignificant thing at WDW that is special to them and if it were to be taken away, wether its a food item, or just a flower in the back corner of EPCOT, they would be upset and they would be right here to let us all know how they felt. Many of us have grown up with these magical things and they are just as much a part of our trip as riding our favorite ride. To all the people who can longer get their cinamon rolls, I hope you find something to replace it and start a new tradition for years to come. I've had many things over the years taken away or removed and all I coulddo was start something new. A few times its even worked out for the best. No need to defend why your upset or find an old email that proves anything or justify your feelings about it. Some people just want to get a rise out of you. Don't let em! We fans should unite! Not bicker! We all make up such a small % of the people who visit wdw. It's basically us vs. corporate. We write letters, emails and make phone calls that have probly made more of a difference than we will ever know. The people who think we are crazy for loving Disney so much are the same ones who visit and enjoy a world that we defend and have fought to make better. Maybe im nuts and none of it makes a difference but I would feel lazy if i didnt at least try.
