Main Street Bakery to Serve Starbucks Coffee

Do we have a definitive answer on origin point for the Cinnamon Rolls, then and now? Were the old MS rolls baked in the bakery? Where are they baked now for Gastons?

Yes. We've had a definitive answer Since Saturday. They are baked in the exact same location they used to be picked. Neither rolls Are actually baked in the location they are served. It was explained by one of the cast members posting in this thread that the only difference is how the icing is applied.

Again if you feel strongly alma mater, please write just relations at the address provided in this thread before.

This conversation is absolutely insane. It's not Butterbeer where it's only available in the WWoHP. It's a freakin cinnamon bun. Get over it and walk to Gaston's or to your local Cinnabon.

Why is it if something isn't important to one person, they find it "insane" that others are talking about it? Given that this thread is over 100 pages long, if it doesn't interest you, perhaps you should walk away from it.

Wait a minute, where did Disney lie about what the bakery would become?

Here's what the original Disney Blog post from November said about the changes:

And in the update added a few days later:

Putting aside opinions on whether or not the changes at the Main Street Bakery are positive or negative, the blog post up front said it was getting the full complement of Starbucks items. And added there would be some Disney items. (Favorites I suppose is subjective... as to what counts as a favorite can certainly be debated, but again I'm trying to keep opinion out of this.)

Based on what I've seen in the images, we got an early 20th century themed location, with Disney cast members in period costumes, with a full Starbucks menu with some Disney items as well. That's what Disney told us.

Did Disney at some point officially say something different than this? Or did the opinions and interpretations by people in this thread (or possibly elsewhere online) get turned into fact along the way?

I (as well as a few others) sent emails expressing our concerns about this. The response said that all of our favorites would be back at the Bakery. The only major change would be the ADDITION of certain Starbucks pastries and obviously the coffee. Nothing was ever said about the removal of all the original baked goods as well as the removal of all the seating.

Could you (or the others) share those responses or link to where you've posted them if you have already done so?

I don't know what's weirder: People upset over the cinnamon buns, or people upset that people are upset over the cinnamon buns.

Can't we all just get along and be upset together over the yeti?

Definitely seems to be a high "and then they came for me" factor on this one. (credit to merf for the analogy)

Maybe someone else can. I don't keep deleted emails from last year.

Moot point anyway. And they did lie in the blog. They've said several times that the cinnamon rolls are now at Gaston's. Not true, as has been pointed out several times. They may as well have said "You can still get the cinnamon rolls. They're available at your local grocery store."

I'm not referring to the cinnamon rolls. You said "Disney lied about what the Bakery would become". I have shown evidence that's not that case. Without being able to see an official response from Disney on the issue, I can only go by what is available.

I was referring to the Cinnamon Rolls. I think that falls in line with what the Bakery has become.

Not to put to fine a point on it but they didn't lie. Cinnamon buns are available at Gastons. They never said directly the they would return to the Bakery. Perhaps, like many of us they feel that a Cinnamon bun is a Cinnamon bun. If you didn't ask if it was exactly the same as before, then they might not have even been aware that this was the exact problem. If you didn't directly ask is seating was going to be taken out they probably wouldn't have volunteered that information or for all we know, at the time, maybe they didn't plan on taking them out.
It was a staple food item at WDW. Please - If they decided to get rid of Dole Whips, this board would probably explode from an overflow of traffic.
That is true, but, it is probably because it would affect a lot more people then the CB's did. It has been established that a lot of us long time regulars never even knew they sold them. It was hardly a situation were absolute hordes of people were sitting around all year craving a Cinnamon Bun from Disney's MS Bakery.

I don't even like cinnamon buns! Lol sorry I just don't. I'm sorry you lost your food staple but it is what it is. Lol I'm still going to give Disney my money several times a year because while changes can be sad/annoying/frustrating/insert your own adjective here, we do get over it *shrug*

Edit: For the record I was so upset when I saw Pop removed the chicken penne Alfredo which I ate at least twice on my trips there. In fact the menu there sucks now IMO that just motivated us to move away from Pop and do moderate from now on. We've outgrown it lol

There was a distinct maple taste to my Gaston's roll when I had one way back in December, but that was because they were using a maple glaze in addition to the regular frosting, and there was a fair amount of it. It was likely a recipe change/experiment, since it doesn't sound like that is the case anymore.

I'll unhappily eat crow on trying to assure folks it was going to be more like the FF&P than it ended up being, mainly because I'm very disappointed in how things turned out. I don't care about the cinnamon roll specifically (I'd much rather have Cinnabon at Universal any day, and Pilsbury rolls are just as good IMO), but the almost wholesale elimination of Disney items is not a good thing. The themeing isn't where it should be. It isn't bad, but it isn't at the level I expect.

Now, all that said…where does the line start for my mocha frappucinno?

Thanks for the input.

I definitely agree with most posters on here that the near elimination of Disney offerings is a huge negative. The loss of seating has its pros and cons, but since there isn't any fully indoor seating around that area, I can understand the frustration in its loss. I haven't seen it with my own eyes yet, so I won't form my opinion on the theming and decor until I have a chance.

I too don't have any great attachment to a cinnamon roll. Never had one at MSB, nor at Gaston's. Although after all this discussion, I guess I'm gonna have to try one at least once!

To each their own. People can have their opinions, but Cinnamon Buns? Out of everything in WDW, that's what we're going to complain about?
