MAGICal DLP News, Rumours & Thoughts

The latest rumours suggest that the ride will close 2 to 3 years in a row for about 6 months each time to do a phased retracking. The idea behind this phased approach is to avoid having 2 coasters closed at the same time (yes, Space Mountain is also going to close at some point)

According to the rumours, this is the first part of a multi-year renovation for BTM. It'll close these 6 months now and in the second part of the year it'll be Space Mountain for "similar works". In January 26, BTM should close once again with Space following after. It could take quite a long time. Also, notice that the Molly Brown will close on January 6th as well, it could just be the low season but it can also point to the lake being emptied.

Kinda sad that we won't have both coasters open at once for a long while in this case.

Has anyone said what will be replacing the two? Sorry if that's been answered already, I've not kept up with all the Village changes. :(
Yes. They'll be combined into one Sports Bar, here are the renderings by Disney

This strategy is... a choice.
Does anyone know when Alice and the Queen of Hearts will return? I can only find "spring" but is there a specific date?
I don't think it's been announced but I'd expect around April.
Replacing a sports bar and sandwich shop with... a larger sports bar. Well that's... something. 🤷‍♂️
The Sports Bar (like most of DV) is dated and is in desperate need of a refresh. On paper I think it is more interesting they are replacing the 'quick service' with an expanded bar however as can be seen at Rosalie and for the new Italian restaurant (the name escapes me) it seems these outlets are also including 'quick service' windows which negates the need for the standalone quick service that is being replaced.

The current sports bar looks extremely dated -- the concept art of the new one is just so incredibly bland, though. It looks very similar to the bar and grill area at a semi-private golf course I played a few years ago.

Yes, after travelling a little over summer I was thinking that it distilled my impression of airport sports bars/restaurants from walking past quite a few of them.

Finally out of tarps. Looks gorgeous.

No surprise, but confirmation the new lakeside security gate will match the main entrance design:

Site of the new gate:

Which bit are they meant to be reusing?

The McDonald’s move continues:

And the century long esplanade remodelling also continues:
