Magic Kingdom Tree Massacre

No, no it's not. And no, you can't see from one land to another very easily at all. There are thematic barriers EVERYWHERE. It's the reason there are tunnels leading from Aland to Frontierland. So you can't see the mountains of Frontierland, which would destroy the illusion. Same reason the statues on top of the Tiki Room look like buffalos, so it doesn't intrude on Frontierland. Smae reason there's another tunnel from LS to Fantasyland.

Fantasyland and Tomorrowland blend together, which is a problem, IMO.

LS melds into Frontier, but that was done as a thematic change.

Honestly, pay attention on friday. You'll notice that they tried as hard as possible to hide lands from each other.

Thank you!

Seriously people, pick up the Imagineers Field Guide to the MK, you'll learn stuff.

Sadly, I still do.

And while the folks who argue for the dumber, more concrete, less park-like setting of today's MK, all I can say is from the design standpoint that created the park, what's there today is incongruous with that.

Doesn't work. Doesn't belong.

And sure, anyone's entitled to like it better this way because taste us subjective and many folks who claim to be Disney fans don't even get the most basic tenets of MK design.

They likely also shop at Walmart and enjoy burgers and chicken fingers when dining!:D:hurl:

Much like Sarah Palin, they like to see their purty fibgerglass castle from Alaska!:xmas::wave:

For the record, I prefer the trees in the forecourt, and I shop at Walmart, and LOVE Disney chicken nuggets and burgers.

Oh, and I'd proudly pull the lever for fmr Gov. Palin...

I can't stand chicken fingers, but I think it's safe to say WDW1974 has taken the award for dumbest poster on this thread.

"What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."

So in a nut shell we are welcome to like the treeless forecourt but we are uneducated, uncultured rednecks for doing so.

I would agree with that for the most part. It's no different than the wand at Epcot or hat at Hollywood studios. I can't tell you how many people I heard say they liked the wand they just didn't understand that it didn't fit with the design and theming.

Well, WDW1974 has always been dumb. :D

Thank god we don't the equally-idiotic TDLFAN posting on these forums. He and 74 strut their stuff at other just-as-controversial forums (MiceChat, Laughingplace.com, etc.) and spam them constantly like they own the place, which is just plain sick and wrong.

Those two sinful souls need to not only be banned from the parks, but they need to be banned from the entire internet as well.

HAH!

Thanks!:ROFLOL::king::xmas:

If anything I ever write is the dumbest thing on a thread here, then I'll wear it like a pin lanyard as a badge of honor.
:xmas:
The point that the OP noted was the importance of trees from both a quality of guest experience (i.e. shade) and design (shielding things that shouldn't be seen from your sightlines).

That's why the wholesale slaughter of them to make it easier to see Wishes and make the castle POP more simply dumbs down the whole experience.

But that doesn't account for taste, which was my point. Plenty of folks like dumber and simpler and don't get or care to get the whole picture.

People saw fireworks for well over three decades with lots of greenery in the Hub.

I could go on, but why? People do like Walmart and Sweet Sarah and burgers for every meal and the MK being a vast sea of concrete. And don't fret, TDO is listening to you!:xmas:

In your opinion...........surely

It's not exactly an opinion there are rules of design and theming. Now it may be a little subjective. The wand clearly did not fit the design and theming of Epcot and the hat does not fit the theming and design of the studios. Now if you change or interpret the theme differently than it works. If it was supposed to be Mickey's Magic Epcot Park or Mickey's Hollywood Land of Sorcery then those elements definitely would be appropriate.
