And I personally thank you for your time. While I feel like I can bring the CM's views along with the guest I personally speak with, I feel like I'm brushed aside because I'm JUST a CM.

Sounds awesome. Hope it turns out well for you.
i don't think you should be shunned as a cast member. I was at one time a cast member. Started on Monorails and transferred to MK East attractions then on to MGM attractions. I learned a lot during those years and used that knowledge during my WDI and Universal Creative tour of duty. So many in management at Glendale and Burbank have no clue what goes on day to day at the parks. Nobody listened to me when I used my experience in operations to prove a point while at WDI.

I say keep up the good work and keep "preaching". While they might not admit it, you may get through to at least one person in management that may make a difference.

Yup. I have fun on the ride, but I always get off, look at the wait time and think to myself, "Reall? You people are gonna wait 3 hours for that?"
It's enjoyable (like Midway Mania) but nowhere near the wait. Guests love it though...proof that they've been conditioned to accept mediocrity. American Adventure far sarpasses anything in EPCOT and most guests don't even know it exists.

Yup. EE has tons and tons of potential. Too bad the attraction does the queue a great disservice.
The queue and the show building (even if it is incomplete:brick: )

You can take her if I can have Taylor Swift.

Deal.

Perhaps I am misunderstanding the term show elements, but just because an attraction has less show elements does not make it an inferior attraction.

"A special effect without a story is a pretty boring thing."-George Lucas

Episode I proved that.

I'm am interested where you are going with this, but I don't follow your line of reasoning.
I've tried in numerous posts to quantify the drop in quality since 1994. Some have understood and others still don't seem to get it. So where I'm going with this is taking one aspect at a time and putting a number or something tangible to it.

The number of show elements alone do not determine the quality of the overall experience, but it is one of several indicators that will prove my point. Once some of these "nonbelievers" admit this undeniable fact I'll move on to the next category which is cost and materials used.

I'm just tired of reading things like, "the drop in quality is a matter of opinion". I vehemently disagree and will prove it if anyone is interested enough to play along.

I think that's what he is getting at. Correct me if I'm worng 'bulb(Can I call you 'bulb?) What's the great "story" of TT? Of Mission: Space? Of Soarin'?

Those three, some of WDW's "flagship" additions in the past few years have very poor stories. They are the special effects in essence.
Yes I believe that is part of the problem. There is of course much more but this is one of the most obvious shortfalls of current Disney product.

:D I love the way you think. AA was closed the first month and a half of my CP. You should have seen the look of amazement on the CMs' faces when I would come up and ask when it would open.

Yup, I sure do miss things called show scenes.

Okay, I'll let them know next time I see them.:lookaroun

Please make sure you calculate in the new and very well received stuff too. For examle, SSE ascent, post show, Kim Possible, HM refurb, the annual improvements to F&G, new Innoventions stuff, AIE, Pixar Place etc etc etc. And also, please factor in this is a slow time at WDW due to other priorities such as DCA's makeover.

Lonnie is my favorite AA CM. He is a true "It" getter.

It's great to hear my opinions posted by someone else. I love American Adventure. it's a great show!

It still baffles me how so many love Soarin' with its unrealistic film scratches and bare-bones queue and story. We've had Back To the Future for years. Just because you can dangle your feet here doesn't constitute an exciting new attraction. I do however love Goldsmith's score. That pretty much makes it for me. Everything else is rather average, especially if you wind up on one of the ends of the theater. Little things that never would have passed show quality years ago, such as guests casting shadows on the screen, have made it through.

Midway Mania is sorely lacking in several areas. Some things are done okay and are passable but WDW used to be about straight A's, not C's.

You know, now that the Adventurers Club is allegedly closed for good, the American Adventure is probably my favorite attraction on property. It posseses all of the qualities that make up a perfect Disney attraction.

The best thing about Soarin' is the music, and the safety video. The scratches throughout the video are unforgivable, as is the ending in Disneyland during Christmas when we're in EPCOT.

Midway Mania is what Buzz should have been 11 years ago. Back then, it would have been innovative and not a Wii ripoff. It's a shame that the best attractions that WDI/management could come up with for a great franchise like Toy Story are cheap shooters.

Are you sure you aren't confusing attractions at WDW with Uni. Spiderman was a disaster last time I went in there. Nothing worked.

Eisner was in charge when Buzz was built. Iger when TSMM was built. Exhibit 2.

Oh and I heard somewhere that the AC is closed for good. Sorry.

I do agree that the Haunted Mansion makeover was well done. In fact, I've been on every Mansion around the world and I'd have to say that we now have the best one, even better than Tokyo! That does make me happy since Mansion is in my top three favorite attractions. SSE was okay but a disappointment in the descent and transition to space. Kim Possible falls short in my opinion but I can at least give them kudos for introducing new technology that I have been pitching for a while now.

All this is way too little and too late. They have a lot of catching up to do in order to make up for 15 years. Of course of the latest round of attraction projects were not put on hold I probably wouldn't be posting all this. The Little Mermaid, MI, Indy ride, ST2 and 20K/Journey would be incredible steps in the right direction. Unfortunately I don't have the same confidence in Disney management that you do.

Knowing all these are on hold makes me sad panda.

All I ask is that you remember me when management (Iger, Lasseter) come through. It will happen. Actually it already is :D

You must have missed what I said. TSMM would have been great, ground-breaking, etc...11 years ago.

As for the AC, that makes my September 25th ticket inside with dinner and shows that much more valuable:king: Disney can tell me till it's blue in the face that the AC is not coming back. The condition of 5189 Hill St. Lake Buena Vista, FL paints a completely different picture.

Jt, I will proudly, and happily eat crow if 3 of those projects are confirmed and MK gets the cleaning/love it deserves.

In fact I promise I will dedicate a thread in you honor. You have my word.

When was that? Just curious because I have never been on Spider-man and seen it in bad shape.

About a year ago, everything was out of sync. To the point the ride shut down for 5 minutes, techs ran through etc. All of IoA was having a bad day.
