In my opinion, AA is the finest stage show ever created for any theme park by far.

It's also something that would NEVER be created today by WDI. A long, expensive, AA-centric show that depicts the history of our great land.

Nope.

It's much easier to build an empty soundstage/warehouse type building and toss in a 2-3 minute thrill ride with plywood flats (RnRC) or a simulator (MS) or a drive in a convertible (TT).

I never miss AA on a WDW visit. Funny how shows like AA have legs and can go on indefinitely with just a little TLC and updating ...

While I agree with most of what you're saying here, you can't honestly tell me that the main reason why AA remains a popular attraction is because of what it is rather than its subject matter.

We're in the US and a lot of people eat up the whole American pride thing. Of course people will go see it. I'm more likely to go see American Adventure than O Canada or Impressions de France. I'm American so I'm more drawn to that show.

I have to ask one simple question, let's say the MK breaks an attendance record over Spring Break (and you haven't qualified it by saying whether it will be an all-time daily MK record, which I'll guarantee you won't happen here and now,

MK at Phase 4 closing to ALL guests today. Havn't seen that happen in a very long time, not even on July 4 or New Year's Eve. Think that record still isn't on? All those records could go - even the one you guaranteed. :)

I'll say it's half and half. AA shows are definitely popular. Look at Food Rocks. It was still drawing crowds when it closed.

Of course there's only 3 AA stage shows left, so they are a dying breed.

You sure it didn't happen on New Years Eve, Steve? I was working that day and we were told it did.

Phase 1 and 2, not a 4. I really don't think that a phase 4 has ever happen since the Internet and discussion forums have been around. I've been going through all my new items that I have done over the years when we get phase closings and I cant find any confirmed 4s.

OKay, I believe you. I just remember being told we were closed to anymore guests, but of course it could have been bad info.

Is this the highest closing level possible?:dazzle:

Yep phase 4 is the highest. Its basically means its closed to absolutely everyone and has reached it's complete capacity. Resort guests, AP holders, DVC, everyone will be denied entrance. Usually in all the MK closings, they are just closing the parking lot, or closing the actual park to day guests. Guests arriving on resort busses, monorail, AP holders are allowed in. Not so today.

No...there is the super secret Phase 6(yes they skip right over 5), where guests already in the park are fed to Ginger in the Jungle Cruise and Big Al from CBJ.

:lookaroun

I really shouldn't even be talking about it.
Ah. Is that how they find soul 1000 for HM?

Someone on Twitter said just a little while ago that MK was at Phase 4 closing. I think it was the Theme Park Rangers guy, around 40 minutes ago.

I was just trying to picture in my mind what "stroller hell" looks like under these conditions but the thought frightened me too much  :ROFLOL:

Steve would you happen to have the exact number of people required to have a phase 1, 2, 3, and 4 declared?

He might but Disney keeps those numbers pretty top secret and they can vary depending on which attractions are opened or closed.

I understand that, and that is one of the problems with this thread. If Disney does not release attendance figures how do we know any records are being broken? If they don't release attendance figures how do we know what the old record is.

Steve will tell us in due time.
