Mad Tea Party closing for refurbishment

will 45 days be enough time to put on a new roof?
Prefabbed yes. Demo would take that long since this is a very simple roof and hypothetically, if a new roof was being installed, 45 days is plenty to assemble something like above if it were prefabbed off site and just need erecting.

The Magic Carpets of Alladin is usually closed in early December.

our vacation is ruined.....

do you think I should try to get a refund?:ROFLOL:

In front of the Teacups at night is one of my favorite places in WDW

I totally agree with you. I understand that these closures and refurbs are necessary but i think these should be annonced more than 45 days in advance. But don't worry, my vacation will not be ruined. My daughters will certainly find an other way to get me nauseous:lol:

I will call your bluff, most people plan their vacations based on when they can go, I sincerely doubt you or many other would change plans if you knew attraction x were going to be closed. Just view it as an opportunity to explore something you otherwise might have skipped/missed like Tom Sawyer Island or CoP

Yeah, i must admit i've overreacted on this one. Sorry! :hammer:

Maybe it's the stress to be so eager to be there.

I will go to the tea party to compensate! :animwink:

I kind of feel like everyone over reacted to what you said. You never said it would ruin your vacation (in fact you said the exact opposite!) All I saw was someone being frustrated at the timeline given for the closing, which has made me pout as well. As I said before, I will live without the tea cups this trip. BUT finding out another attraction will be closed this close to arriving takes a bit of the wind out of my sails. It makes me sad to think about how little fantasy will be visible this trip. Maybe for a while we should rename fantasyland to wallville. There are walls all the way down one side (except for Pinocchio's Village Haus), walls in front of Pooh and now there will be walls all the way around the tea cups. YIKES!

Just wondering, if the Teacups got moved up on the schedule since the changes to FLE are now in flux. That could explain the 45 days short notice.

Hmmmmm.

You just made it seem like your whole trip was ruined and if you had 45 days notice you would have canceled...which is kind of extreme if I must say so...:lookaroun:lol:

I mean it is the Tea Cups..:D:wave:

I am curious to see what will happen. I had a feeling all of the FL facades would be refurbished before the opening of the expansion, I guess there is a chance my feeling was correct.

Teacups was supposed to movie according to plans. I am pretty sure that has changed.

I don't think you over-reacted. I understand the frustration. The tea-cups are my family's favorite. Regardless if they are available in the local carnival or not. It is not the same as riding them at WDW. I too think it would be nice if WDW would announce all known closures prior to the 45 days. I understand problems come up, but if it is a known closure, it is the RIGHT thing to do. Although I wouldn't cancel my vacation over it......well I can't honestly say that, perhaps if several of my favs were closed, I would want to reschedule my vacation. You made a valid point.

No offense to anyone, but some poster's responses were unkind.

The picture of the roof is really sweet looking! That would look really nice.
