Mad Tea Party closing for refurbishment

Can I just say that I like ours better because we have the tea pot in the middle? I was looking at pictures of others and I didn't see it. That makes our win IMO. Though, I do love that DLP roof!

Considering that Mrs. Pott's Cupboard was recently given a straw roof:

And the "Mad Hatter" store at Disneyland has a straw roof:

I wouldn't be surprised if the MK Teacups also receive some sort of straw roof.

It would definitely fit in better with the "Fantasy Forest" theme than DLP's glass and metal roof.
Right... Do you realize how ugly and tacky that would look?

For what it's worth; I saw a bunch of Imagineer types riding the teacups at around 9:05 immediately after the park opened on Friday. They weren't looking up much, just all around, more like they were experiencing the sensation of the ride rather than concentrating on the visual aspect of it. There were also a handful of mechanical engineer types watching them from the side.

Oh geez, if they had been there a day or two later, they would have noticed that the teacups were operating with the turntables not turning. There were all sorts of problems with them starting Saturday. It's not just the roof that needs repair.

Wow that picture is just stunning. I can't imagine loving a castle more than WDW's, but I dream of one day seeing the DLP castle in person. Not sure how much the picture was digitally altered, but the colors are just amazing. Maybe one day...:)

And add a +1 here for hopes of a similar teacups roof in the refurb!

Doesn't look much altered to me. The visuals in DLP Fantasyland are wonderful.

Nov. 11, theres now a set of walls surrounding the Tea Cups, the topiary isnt though :)

There wasn't a set of walls yesterday, the first day the ride was closed, which just created an unneeded hassle for the poor CM who had to stand there and tell people the teacups were closed, even though they looked open. I wasn't at MK today, but I'll take your word for it that they've actually started doing stuff now. :)
