M. Inc. means World for Epcot?

Seats rotate just like CoP, each section holding 200 people, 4 rooms, show length being 19mins. 800 per full building, 3 full shows per hour, 2400 is the capacity - greater than SSE at 2200.

Eh, well I guess I'm incorrect. I still wouldn't expect it, though... I just don't think they would bring a show that's not been doing well all the way to Epcot and take the risk...

The building is bigger than it looks. All of the Japan pavilion was built at 2 stories - to match the size of the needed show building.

It wouldn't of been published in the Epcot book if it was never going to be built as originally planned.

They had every intention of building it, just sliding the show in there. But when it came time to do it, the thing just wouldn't fit.

Eh, I don't know. Maybe I'm totally wrong, it's just a weird story that stuck out in my mind and I think I'm remembering correctly.

I'll find the article on MousePlanet about it.

EDIT: NO! It's at D-Troops. The old one. And since I haven't been there since it's been redone, I don't know if it's still there. I don't even know if the site is working now.

I looked around the net - there's a few articles about it, but they all cite the WWII gloss-over as being the reason it was dropped. It might PO veterans apparently.

As much as i hate the idea of Monsters Inc at Epcot, although it will be put in the ABC sOundstage at MGM, Is there not a very large scene of Monsters Inc that takes place in a Japeneese restaurant called HarryHausen's?

Supposedly

World showcase is never supposed to have a character driven attraction, it was on the podcast the other week. Sumthing to do with the character will only do meet and greets because a ride would not fit into the theme of WS. Only Original creations would go into WS. But like all other things in WDW this could change.

I don't get how almost nobody understands the original theory: he's not talking about Monsters Inc. coming to EPCOT, he meant Meet The World.

That's interesting. So there are two abandonded show buildings in World Showcase (the other one is in Germany)?

While I personally doubt that Meet the World would be brought over in its entirety, I really think that we might have a good shot at getting something in the building. Perhaps a modified Meet the World, sort of like what they did with the America Sings animatronics when they built Splash Mountain--they could bring some of the major set elements over, but create a slightly different attraction so as to be more current and take advantage of newer technology. Here's hoping we see something come of this and the other unused show building.

That always made me wonder. Why does everyone say it would be better suited for MGM? All the dark rides are in the MK.

That is not true. The Great Movie Ride is already at MGM and it is a dark ride, albeit a very expensive one.

That would be great. Bring the Rhine River ride to Germany and I'll be a happy girl. We definately need more attractions in World Showcase. I don't think it gets the attention it deserves. Japan is one of my favourite pavilions in Epcot so I'll be happy to see it get something new.

Wow...some people can't read...lol.
Anyway...now this is a rumor worth discussing. I had never heard of Meet the World before, and now that I've looked at that link, I think it would make an excellent addition to WS. It's more then just one of their "circle vision" films, but cheaper and probably easier then an entire ride. I do agree that with the upcoming anniversary, some of the countries need to be revamped. When was the last time something new came into any of those countries?
And I agree.....characters should Stay Out of WS.

I do believe developments of this order ought to be implemented to celebrate the momentous occasion of Epcot25...

It's time for World Showcase to be enhanced, I daresay... :D

I think every country should get something new for the anniversary. Even if it's just a small show in front of the pavilion. That would be cool and I really wouldn't be suprised to see it happen.

Yes, yes. Please.

Bring the Rhein to Epcot. It's the only attraction I'm mad at WDI for not building... That I know of.

I like the way your thinking and getting to that hypothesis. But it does sound a tad bit weird for a Monster Inc ride to go in Japan. Call me crazy if anybody else thinks that that is normal.

I don't see the connection....I don't see what Monsters, Inc. has to do with any country in particular, much less Japan.

I think there is some confusion here and hopefully I've got it straight.

Monsters Inc is going into Tomorrowland in the old Meet The World building in Tokyo. There are rumors Meet the World could come to Japan where it was supposed to be originally and in another totally separate rumor Monsters Inc could find it's way in another pavilion in Future World.

As others have pointed out, Meet the World (which opened at TDL in 1983) would not fit in the building at the Japan pavilion, though a copy was to have been installed there at about the time Epcot received Morocco. Instead, they got a warehouse.

The Rhine River attraction never had a building at Germany - other than space for its entry and queue, some of it now used as seating for the snack bar outside the restaurant.

Thanks you! That was driving me crazy.
