what distinction? That qualifier isn’t found in a number of those “sources.” The sourcing and methodology is pretty sparse.

The original source appears to have actually been Rachel (Disney), the second tweet got more play. You can see her tweet timing came before Hollywood Handle.

Number of viewings of trailers and teasers does not equate to film success or failure. Let's see the results after the first wave of film viewers provide their reviews.

No, certainly not. But it's been recently somewhat predictive of general interest and seems to be tracking against opening potential. In a very early fashion.

If no one tunes into a trailer, awareness and interest is terrible. If tons of people are tuning in, it means they are actually excited for the movie. It is one, of many, early metrics to keep an eye on. Seemingly correlated mostly to opening weekends and the long term potential of the movie really comes down to reviews/WOM. Primarily CinemaScore does well in that arena on a genre basis.

If this flops, that's fine. One less Live Action Remake movie to worry about, anyway. Besides, I'm more worried for WDAS and Pixar than their Live Action Remakes.

The animation looks worse than from the original (85 year old) movie.

If this is the best they can do they should have stuck with real actors in their live action movie.
You do realize this appears to be from someones phone right? Its why it looks so grainy and highly compressed. It'll likely look better once released on-screen in theaters.

Not to mention the film is not released until March… I am sure they will continue to tweak the animation… I see nothing wrong with the clip either though

My issue is with the design of the characters. They just don’t look good to me. Dopey in particular is a major downgrade.
Its just a different interpretation of the characters. If you don't like them that is fine, but I wouldn't call it a downgrade. That is like saying any artists interpretation of something is a downgrade just because its not an exact duplicate copy of that that came before it.

I feel pretty confident in saying that not nearly as much artistic creativity or care went into these character designs as compared with the originals. In my eyes, it’s a definite downgrade, though I acknowledge that others may feel differently.

And let me clarify that I never once stated that I needed the characters to resemble their cartoon counterparts, let alone be carbon copies of them. That is the opposite of how I feel.

There was a similar clip posted not too long ago and it looked about that same. I don’t recall if it was a phone clip or not though. I also hope it looks better by the time it’s released.

I don’t think it looks good either, but this is a really strange way of putting it given that the original remains an unquestioned masterpiece of animation.
It’s a natural comparison though, if a company is going to remake a classic they have to know people are going to compare it to the original, if they can’t make it look at least as good as the original they shouldn’t make it, or they should make it a completely different style.

The original Snow White is an artistic masterpiece, this look comical in comparison.

People complained when they thought the movie was going to be completely different from the original.

According to the conspiracy theorists, Disney freaked out and fired the star, remade the entire movie and added dwarfs at the last minute.

Now the dwarfs don’t look close enough to the original ones, so Disney should have made a completely different movie.

It’s almost as though the objections have nothing to do with the actual movie.
