It's a world of profit margins in economic fear

Of quarterly earnings and lack of holiday cheer

And the price to park may go up, be we honestly don't give a ______

It's a commercialised (walt disney) world after all

I'd again advise against taking matters up with Guest Relations. The people there have no control over what goes on. And they may feel the same as you. They exist to offer you a free burger or churro if you have a complaint.

I'd make sure Danny Cockerell and Erin Wallace know how you feel. They had to sign off on the holiday line-up at EPCOT.

Disney doesn't like people contacting its execs directly (much like almost every major American corporation these days), so generally I believe in doing what they don't like ... it takes them out of their comfort zone and gets the word to folks who need to hear it.

34 pages ... wow.

I guess folks here like LoW more than prime rib on their buffets or the ability to get into restaurants without making a reservation six months in advance or staying and playing late in the parks or seeing Fantasmic nightly or buying themed merchandise etc ... it's all part and parcel of Walmarting WDW. And they'll push it as far as they can.

True. I think its more been a build up of all of that. When you throw in the less-than-it-should-be SM refurb and the cancelling of Twas the Night Before Christmas, I think we've all reached the point where you have to draw a line and say enough is enough. This looks to be that point.

I received this response from the editor of the site:

Hi -------,

I have made a few phone calls about it over the last week, but have still not received a definite answer. Holidays Around the World does not begin until November 27th, so there is still time to construct the arches if they choose to. I agree with you that it will be disgraceful if it did not return this year. Just stay tuned to the website, I'll post something as soon as I know more.

So at least we know there's others out there looking into the story, and who are disappointed as we are....

Well, good to know people are looking into it. Maybe management will still reconsider at the last moment.

LoW has been completely removed from all schedules of holiday events. That doesn't exactly mean the lights are canceled, but you can read into that what you will.

CMs were told this morning its a no go.

Steve says he has sources that say its a no go.

Do you have something to add to the contrary?

Maybe they will do something new like light up innoventions but I doubt it. I never got to see them before and really hope I do someday. It has to be amazing going thru them in the monorail. I have been inspired to make a mini lights of winter display at my house. Hope I pull it off. Wont be as good but I will do my best. NO need to pile in front of my house . We put the freestanding decorations in the back do to vandals, especially the randier, we dont want any inappropriate positions in out front yard.

How can we contact them?

I agree with the other methods but I wouldn't discount complaining to guest relations. I'm sure that many of them do feel the same way but this doesn't mean that you shouldn't voice your complaints with them, quit the contrary they are probably hoping people will come in and complain so they can pass the complaints up to their supervisors. They are probably going to be more likely to act on the complaints. While I don't think you should be mean to them there's nothing wrong with being forceful about it. Ask tough questions like "I am planning a trip for the holidays will the LoW be here" "I am thinking of renewing my AP for the holidays but only if LoW is here" etc. and when your not satisfied with the answers ask for supervisors. If it becomes apparent there are a fair amount of complaints this early they will realize that if they don't put them up that it will be a very rough holiday season for Guest Relations. Guest Relations probably doesn't have a huge amount of pull with the executives, but I can imagine if they went into a meeting and said "were projecting to have to spend X amount of dollars on compensating guests for LoW" it might just get some attention.

Someone should start a Facebook group or use some other methods to reach more mainstream people, there are a lot of people who aren't big enough Disney fans to read the fan sites but are just as dissatisfied when they learn about this.

I have mentioned it on my own Facebook page twice now - it really helps to spread the word this way.

Up to 143 comments now on the Disney Parks blog! If you look at the times, there is a new one almost every few minutes today. Someone has to moderate all of these, so at least we know we're reaching someone. Whether that someone will be any help to all of us remains to be seen. But keep up the good work either way!

Don't just keep the comments to the 1 entry. Keep it going on the newest posts out there to ensure we're still being seen.

They haven't deleted that waterfall of posts yet. There might be a chance.

Erin...Yeah. Danny? This is kinda shocking, seeing he came with so much good will and the fact that EPCOT has looked pretty good these last few months.

This is the straw that broke the camel's back, Spirit. :) And being me, I'll ask you to delve into the psychology behind this. Look at what and where was....and what it was for. Then think of the audience. I think you can make the holiday connection.:lookaroun;)

I really don't think that has anything to do with it at all, but that would be a very good question for the Sentinel to ask.

It would???

Doesn't sound like there's a connection here at all, but I guess we're starting to reach a bit since Disney has failed to address the issue.
